30 Thousand Saplings from ITHIB to Texhibition Istanbul Memorial Forest

Ahmet Öksüz, Chairman of ITHIB, said in his statement; “As the Turkish textile industry, we do not only take steps in the added value we create, production and exports. Acting with a sense of responsibility, we started a 30 thousand tree campaign to be a balm for our burning lungs in our memorial forest, which we planted 10 thousand trees in order to reduce the carbon footprint on behalf of our Texhibition Istanbul fair last year.”

1 Sapling for Each Visitor

Due to the forest fires that occurred in various cities of Turkey in August, the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (ITHIB) took action. In his speech, ITHIB Chairman of the Board Ahmet Öksüz said, “Our Texhibition Istanbul fair, where we will bring together more than 500 qualified textile companies with nearly 30 thousand visitors between 11 – 13 September 2024; In 2024, which has been very difficult for our exporters, it will not only make the most accurate contribution to our companies, but will also make our country breathe with our grown saplings. In this context, we will bring 1 sapling to the soil for each visitor.”

Previous period Texhibition Istanbul Fair; It hosted more than 25 thousand qualified professionals from the domestic and foreign textile industry ecosystem. Commenting on the fair, Fatih Bilici, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of ITHIB and Chairman of the Fairs Committee; “As ITHIB, we provide the right contribution to the export target of 15 billion dollars of our textile industry with our Texhibition Istanbul fair.
