İTHİB Awards the Export Champions of the Textile Industry
We Exported Together; We Boast Together
We promised to make the Turkish textile industry one of the top 5 textile exporter countries in the world. Our industry surpassed competitors such as Italy and South Korea and became the 5th largest textile supplier in the world. Our share of global textile exports reached an all-time high of 3.6 percent. In the January – September period of 2022, we realized exports worth 10 billion dollars. In the last one year, we increased our employment by 80 thousand people and reached 1.2 million people in total. At the end of the year, we will break a new record together and announce the highest export figures in the history of the Republic together. Because we exported together, we are proud together.’’
‘‘Textile Companies are in Competition with Each Other’’
Speaking at the award ceremony, Mustafa Varank noted that Turkey is the fifth largest textile producer and exporter in the world and continued: ‘‘Fifth place in the world is of course an important achievement. We have the capability to carry this much further. Therefore, the third place target set by Ahmet is very reasonable.’’
Stating that the well-established companies of the textile industry are in competition with each other, Mustafa Varank expressed: ‘‘This industry is full of so many success stories that we are proud of each and every one of them. I sincerely congratulate the industrialists, investors and entrepreneurs who continue to add value to the sector and our country, whether they receive awards or not.’’ Varank continued his remarks as follows; ‘‘As a ministry, we, under the leadership of our President, accompany our business world and continue our efforts to pave the way for them without slowing down. We never compromise on investment, production, employment and exports in both textiles and other sectors. We are building Organized Industrial Zones, Industrial Zones, industrial estates; we are strengthening the industrial infrastructure of our country. We are building strong innovation offices with techno parks, R&D and design centers. We support their green and digital transformation with KOSGEB and TÜBİTAK. We provide attractive incentives for private sector investments. We contribute to innovative entrepreneurship with the funds we create. We create effective programs to create the necessary human resources for the technological transformation of our country. In addition to all these, we continue to develop vision projects that will revolutionize our country in areas such as space and artificial intelligence.’’

‘‘Two Sectors to Exceed $32 Billion’’
Speaking at the award ceremony, Mustafa Gültepe, President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), underlined that Turkish textile is one of the leading branding sectors in the world with exports to more than 200 countries and said: ‘‘We need to offer more of what makes us successful such as quality, workmanship, design and brand perception. While doing these, we must make our exports sustainable and increase the share of sustainable products. The 9-month exports of textile and ready-to-wear reached 24 billion dollars. I sincerely believe that our two sectors will exceed 32 billion dollars this year.’’
At the ‘ITHIB Adding Value to Exports’ award ceremony organized by ITHIB; 10 star, 33 platinum, 39 gold, 123 silver, 307 bronze, and 212 success awards were presented. A total of 724 awards were given at the ceremony.
