Recycled, Sustainable Textile Collection from Schoeller
Swiss textile manufacturer Schoeller Textil AG has launched “Re-Source”, its newest sustainable textile collection inspired by nature and the result of a comprehensive brand strategy.
Consumers are demanding more sustainable alternatives from the textile industry that don’t sacrifice modern design and high functionality. For Schoeller Textil AG, sustainability and performance have never been just trends. They have been core brand principles, in place for more than 150 years: developing innovative textiles for use in and in harmony with nature. Schoeller announced the launch of its new recycled textile collection Re-Source, creating a symbiosis of the highest quality, design, and current sustainability standards for consumers.
Antonio Gatti Balsarri, chief commercial officer, on the impact mission of the recycled textile collection: “With Re-Source, we are fully focused on our Schoeller brand vision for a better future for people and the planet through contributions to the textile industry. By giving new life to previously used materials, we create ecological and social added value.”
Re-Source offers durability and optimum weather protection
The Re-Source textile innovations guarantee best performance thanks to the highest level of wearing comfort, durability, and optimal weather protection: in urban environments, as workwear, or on the most demanding mountain tours. The textile innovations within Re-Source are also equipped with Schoeller textile technologies to offer breathability, thermal regulation, wind and water resistance.
Re-Source gives valuable materials new life in the form of high-performance textiles. All textile innovations in the collection are made from bio-based, post and pre-consumer materials such as recycled polyester and spandex. Two textile innovations in the collection have been lined with natural Nativa merino wool on the interior, which offers maximum wearing comfort and is produced under the highest sustainability standards.
Re-Source textile innovations approved by Bluesign
The entire production process of Nativa merino wool is 100 % transparent and traceable for consumers using blockchain technology. Nativa farms worldwide meet strict social and ecological requirements for animal welfare (mulesing free), land management, and ethical labor guidelines. Furthermore, Schoeller is committed to the Code Of Conduct, which guarantees transparent supply chains, environmental protection, and fair working conditions. Additionally, all Re-Source textile innovations are bluesign approved – the international standard for responsible and sustainable textile production.
Textile Innovations showcased at Performance Days Textile Fair
“Sustainability meets multifunctionality” Hans Kohn, COO, Schoeller Technologies AG, on the innovative Q-Cycle process, “For Re-Source, we used the special Q-cycle process. The resilient and durable Q-cycle polyamide is obtained by pyrolysis of used tires, thereby saving CO2 emissions compared to the combustion process.” The textile innovations of the new recycled textile collection exhibited at this year’s Performance Days textile fair in Munich from March 15-16, 2023.
