Zimmer Develops COLARIS-Vision System for Automation of Textile Printing Process
Zimmer Austria presented the new Colaris printer generation with up to 16 color groups at ITMA 2023. The presentation was one of the highlights of the fair. The concept of the Colaris-vision camera system, which was presented for the first time, caused amazement among the visitors.
ITMA 2023 was a great trade fair event, which enabled us to meet many of our existing customers in concentrated manner and verry important – to make a good number of new contacts.
An event like ITMA is planned well in advance but in the end, it is always the spontaneous one-on-one discussion that make up the actual character of such a trade fair and what makes it so valuable for us.
Developing new machines and technologies are primarily the result of careful listening. Ultimately, it is the market and its regulations that challenge the specialists of the manufacturing businesses and industries. Quite often merely philosophical discussions about the future of the industry provide the initial spark for new products.

Zimmer Austria, the world market leader in the construction of customer-oriented solutions for textile and carpet printing systems can now look back on a 150-year tradition. Many years of experience, paired with constant visionary thinking and a team of developers from different disciplines ensure that the technology is not only up to date, but always one step ahead of the market.
Automated imaging and computer-controlled processes, coupled with artificial intelligence, can open-up completely new directions for the textile processing value chain. The introduction of Zimmer Austrias new Colaris printer generation with up to 16 color groups was a highlight at the show. Nevertheless, the concept of the Colaris-vision camera system, which was presented for the first time, caused amazement among the visitors. The Colaris-vision camera detection system is the base for piece goods production with a web shop integration. Another option for the Colaris-vision system is that a design can be fitted into a given structure on a web of material and this can be fitted exactly despite any weft-misalignment or shrinkage from fabric preparation in the pre-print process. Multitude applications have so far given textile producers absolute headaches but can be solved through this innovative technology. Colaris-vision can be seen as a further step towards automation of the textile printing process.
