Aksa Acrylic and Akkim Kimya Listed in Fortune 500
Within the scope of the research, the largest companies were ranked according to their net sales figures in 2020. Aksa Akrilik, the world’s leading acrylic fiber producer, and Turkey’s leading chemical producer Akkim Kimya continued their success by being included in the list this year as well.
Aksa Akrilik, which advanced 8 step in the general list compared to the previous year, rose to 87th place. The company also rose 1 step in the Chemical Substance sectoral list and became the owner of the 4th place. Continuing to rise in the rankings this year as well, Akkim managed to be 321st by jumping 11 steps. Akkim also rose 1 step in the Chemical Substance sectoral list and ranked 9th.
Aksa Akrilik produces with an annual capacity of 330 thousand tons in a production area of more than 500 thousand square meters with more than 1200 employees. Realizing one-fifth of the world’s acrylic fiber production alone, the company carries the global leadership flag of its sector with a share of 70% in Turkey, and 24% in the global market. Thanks to its wide product range, Aksa Akrilik supplies textile and technical textile raw materials to a wide range of fields, from carpets to upholstery, from sweaters to socks, from yarn to hand knits, from velvet to rugs, blankets, awnings and industrial filters.
