Aksa Akrilik, in BIST Sustainability Index
Aksa Akrilik which established to supply with Turkey’s needs of acrylic fiber, in Yalova in 1968, took place in the BIST Sustainability Index that found that 50 companies. Aksa Akrilik is the world’s largest manufacturer of acrylic fiber. The company builds its medium and longterm strategy within the framework of global trends and sustainable growth principles. With this index, Aksa Akrilik will demonstrate how to approach from global warming to health, from employment to the water supplies to important sustainability issues related to Turkey and the World. The company will register its practices in a sense by accepting an independent assessment of its activities and decisions in these areas.
HIGH-PERFORMING COMPANIES TAKE PLACE IN THIS LIST
The BIST Sustainability Index, which started in 2014, aims to create an index that will include companies with a high level of corporate sustainability performance. In addition, the understanding of sustainability among companies in Turkey especially Istanbul Stock Exchange is aimed at increasing the knowledge and practice. In order to be included in the index, it is necessary to comply with a methodology developed by the foreign consultancy company.
