Acting with this vision, Astaş Juki leads the sector with high-tech automats, robotic solutions and digital production systems developed with domestic R&D competence. The company, which will participate in the Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition with its giant 1700 square meter stand, will not only exhibit its products but also contribute to bringing the Turkish garment machinery industry to the global showcase. The company, which will participate in the Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition with its giant 1700 square meter stand, will not only exhibit its products but also contribute to bringing the Turkish garment machinery industry to the global showcase. In our interview with Astaş Juki Board Member and General Manager Turgay Aşcı, we discussed many topics from the current needs of the sector to the transformative power of automation in production, from export strategies to the opportunities offered by digitalization. The prominent topics of the interview are as follows:
“Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition will Contribute to the Establishment of International Collaborations”
Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition, which will be held between 25-28 June 2025, will bring together Turkiye’s and the world’s leading garment and ready-to-wear, textile machinery industry, distributors and professionals. This major event offers unique opportunities for anyone looking for innovative solutions in the garment and ready-to-wear industries. As leading companies in the sector, we will be showcasing our state-of-the-art textile and garment machines, production solutions, and automation systems at this event. This exhibition is also of great international importance. We will be exhibiting Turkish advanced technology at the exhibition, which will attract participants from all over the world, particularly from neighbouring countries. This will help to take our technology to the next level. The Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition will contribute to establishing international collaborations and increasing quality standards.
“We Aim to Add Value to the Turkish and World Markets with Our Innovative Solutions”
These events play a major role in showcasing the latest technological developments in the sector and introducing them to the garment and ready-to-wear industries. These types of exhibition allow participants to see new machines and technologies on site, understand how they work, and learn how to integrate them into their business processes. At the same time, these events are important platforms where innovations and trends in the sector are discussed and knowledge and experiences are shared. As Astaş Juki, we produce sectoral solutions with standard automats as well as operation-specific automat and robotic designs in line with the demands, needs and expectations in textile and ready-to-wear technologies. In this exhibition, we aim to contribute to exports while adding value to the Turkish and world markets with the technology and innovative solutions we develop. We will bring our new generation technologies together with the textile and garment sector.
“We will introduce the Bullmer Cutter PROCUT R90 to the Turkish Market”
The innovations and technology-focused solutions we offer our customers are boundless. At Astaş, we are proud to offer our customers the first and many innovations in the sector. Our wide-ranging product portfolio includes sewing machines, cutting and spreading technologies, packing technologies, label sewing machines and technical textiles, as well as automotive seat and airbag sewing automats. At our production facility, the Astaş R&D Technology Center, we produce all sewing machines related to the sector in a 10,500-square-metre closed area. In addition to standard machines, we offer sector-specific solutions in the form of operation-specific machines and robotic designs, in line with the demands, needs and expectations of representatives of the ready-to-wear sector, including those involved in the production of blue jeans, jackets, coats, suits, cotton garments, underwear, shirts, automotive products, furniture and technical textiles.
When it comes to products, the trend is now moving towards automation and robots. More standardised, high-quality work can be carried out with fewer employees. As we all know, it is difficult to find qualified employees in our sector. Thanks to the automation we offer, employees can be redeployed to other areas, thereby increasing productivity.
To specify the machine details; we have made innovations such as pocket setting automats with or without flaps, pocket hemming automats, J stitch automats, patch automats, felt feeding automats for blue jean – chino manufacturers.
We have improved the existing dart automats for blouses and shirts. For combed cotton and sportswear, we have developed T-shirt rib preparation automats, T-shirt rib collar attaching automats and T-shirt skirt automats with a new apparatus system that can be easily adjusted at the touch of a button. We also offer a laser corner notch and placket cutting polo placket automat, as well as automats for polo T-shirt slits and polo placket patches.
There has been a great demand in the field of uniforms and work clothes recently. We offer complete solutions to factories from A to Z by producing pocket setting machines with or without flaps, cargo pocket setting automat, pocket hemming automats, and velcro feeding machines.
In addition to all of this, we are proud to present our new, high-level cutting machine: the Bullmer PROCUT R90 cutter. Produced in Germany, it is being introduced to the Turkish market for the first time, showcasing Bullmer’s pioneering cutting room technology. It can cut continuously and infinitely at a height of 9 cm.
As you know, digital technologies that automate labour-intensive processes, such as those in the textile and garment sector, significantly increase profitability. Digital technology and solutions reduce errors and risks while increasing efficiency. At Astaş, we increase production process efficiency by using these technologies, smart devices and automation systems, accelerating and improving the performance of the companies we work with. Thanks to the technologies we produce for the sector, we continue to manufacture high-value products and establish ourselves in competitive and dynamic global markets.
“We Export to 30 Countries”
As you know, we have been Juki’s representative in Turkiye for over 40 years. In addition to Juki’s products, we provide boutique solutions and services to our customers. Drawing on our years of experience and R&D studies, we develop our own production Astron sewing machines and adapt the robotic system to the machine. This makes our customers more competitive in the field of automation. We deliver our Astron machines not only to Turkiye, but also to many countries in the Turkic Republics, Africa, South America, Bangladesh, India, and the Far East of Asia. We export directly to 30 countries.
Recently, investments have started to be made in Egypt. As you know, many Turkish textile manufacturers go to Egypt and take some of the machines we sell to them there. We also do the maintenance and repair of these machines. Or when new facilities are established there, we take machines from here to there.
With both our Juki machines and our own Astron automats, we become solution partners for our customers according to all their needs so that they can establish integrated factories from A to Z. In this way, we increase the competitive power of our customers and, as a Turkish brand in the international arena, Astaş Endüstri participates in fairs with its own brands and sells machines to the world through its dealers there.
“Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition will Make a Great Contribution to Our Country’s Exports”
Some of the biggest problems of the ready-to-wear and textile sector are access to financing and, with it, energy and labor costs. However, despite the costs, many textile manufacturers prefer to stay in our country with more automated systems.
We need to take ownership of our factories in Turkiye and provide the necessary automations to offer solutions to the sector in order to increase production and efficiency. As Astaş, we are working to offer Made in Astaş machines and equipment that will bring real quality and production efficiency to Turkish textiles to our customers. As we have always said, our aim is to offer our manufacturers complete solutions with the highest quality machines produced with the latest technology. In this way, we increase the competitive power of the Turkish ready-to-wear sector in the international arena. We have full faith that we will overcome this process together.
Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition will make a great contribution to our country’s exports. As Astaş Juki, we will participate in the exhibition with a 1700 m2 booth. We will present our complete automation solutions from A to Z, from sewing machines to automatic fabric spreading machines, from artificial intelligence-supported 3D design systems to fabric cutting machines and packing machines. We will make a combination of machines that we manufacture, those we design together with Juki, and those manufactured by German Bullmer. Customers will come to the exhibition not only from Turkiye but also from many countries such as Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Uzbekistan and other Turkic Republics. The exhibition will provide an opportunity for the machines and automat we manufacture to spread more in the international arena. Thus, our country will make a great contribution to machine exports. I believe that the exhibition will be very productive.
