Color Service Increases Production Volume in 2022 Compared to Previous Years
Color Service Marketing Manager Göksun Özensoy
We interviewed with Color Service Marketing Manager Göksun Özensoy for the special issue of “Italy Textile Machinery Industry” of our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine. Evaluating the year 2022 and the developments in the textile machinery sector, Özensoy also shared his predictions for the year 2023.
Started his statement by saying “The year 2022 was excellent for us”, Özensoy said; “We expanded production volume compare to pervious year as well as average of other years. Our main markets remained same in 2022 but we produced more machines compare to other years. Even when we arrived to end of year, we postponed some machines in production to this year with agreement with customer because we realised that we took orders more than our production capacity.”
Referring to the problems experienced in the sector due to the energy crisis, the increase in raw material prices and the war between Russia and Ukraine, Özensoy shared the measures they took as a company: “Global energy crisis made negative effect on prices of course. Unfortunately, we made some adjustment on prices, which is not favour of customers. But this condition did not change number of machines, which we sell yearly. The main issue electronic component shortage on the world. We are not able to receive electronics in time even some of them impossible to find. We replaced with other components of course to keep production. Some cases, we shipped machines without electronics and install all these components later during our start-up periods. We are hoping that problem will be solved second half of this year. But price of raw materials will remain high long time according to our estimation. At least, we are not expecting another rise on prices this year.”

“The Main Target of Our Machines; Saving Resources”
Emphasizing that sustainable and environmentally friendly production began to gain weight, especially with the energy crisis, Göksun Özensoy said; “The main target of our machines is, saving resources and increase accuracy. That is the important point. Color Service does not produce any system or machine direct production. We produce for machine for service in fact. If we consider that markets are shrinking, Color Service is able sell still good numbers of machines. Because the aim of producers, to improve productivity and to save more resources. To produce more is not convenient any more because there is no buyer. Market is getting small and our customers don’t want to lose their share in market. In this case, solution is saving. Price is dictated by market, there is no way to increase sell price. Only the way survive is to improve productivity. We are concentrating this point. We try to help customers to produce better and faster with our system as well as observe their real costs. Because if you are not able to measure, you can’t improve.”
“We Invest in Africa”
Saying that there will be changes in the textile markets as a result of the recent developments in the world, Özensoy, “China made big impact on textile in last couple of years period. Europe and USA have realised that no possible to do make business with China due to leak of trust. The future continent for investments is Africa. We are investing in Africa for future because there is a good potential for us. Of course, they will invest for production machine in early stage like what happened in China, India, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc. But in 5 years period, they will understand also automation is important. We are getting ready for this.” said.
Expressing that he is not very optimistic for 2023, Özensoy continued as follows. “According to my prospective, we haven’t reached the bottom of crise yet. There is big recession in the world. We should be ready for this. They will be a kind of push after ITMA this year and textile factories may be eager to invest thinking about the future. But it does not mean that will be perfect year. Only positive thing for Color Service is level of potential customers. We work with A level companies and they are strong to survive and invest thinking about long term. Price oriented customer, which are not in our scope, will not be potential buyers in this year.”
“We are going to display a new machine in ITMA, which will be surprise for market”
Özensoy, who stated that they were preparing for the ITMA as Color Service, concluded his words as follows. “We are going to display a new machine in ITMA, which will be surprise for market. Also, we are planning to display something we never display in any exhibition before. Since they are surprises, better not to mention here and we are happy to invite all to see in out booth.”
