Home Textile Companies in Bursa Make A Big Success in the Far East Market

The Turkish home textiles industry has had a big success during the “Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2019,” one of the most important events in the Far East, held in Shanghai, China between August 28th and 31st.

The leading 22 companies in the home textile industry, which have their globally acknowledged product quality with their R&D, innovation and design-oriented quality approach, attended the exhibition as part of the 11th national participation organization organized by Uludag Textile Exporters Association (UTIB). At the exhibition where the Turkish home textile companies displayed their strong image in the global market, the companies from Bursa had the chance to introduce many products and product groups ranging from curtain fabrics to upholstery fabrics, curtains, tulles, bed linens, table cloths, towels and bathrobes for business people from all over the world, especially the Chinese investors. At the exhibition, for which UTİB organized a national participation for the 11th time, the event administration presented the “10 Years and Over Participation Award” to UTIB Chairwoman Pınar Taşdelen Engin. Speaking at the award ceremony, UTIB Chairwoman Pınar Taşdelen Engin said that the main purpose of UTIB is to promote Turkish textile products all over the world and to expand their market networks, and with this mindset they organized extensive activities in the international arena.

Emphasizing that Turkey, as one of the 4 largest home textile exporters in the world, carries out approximately 2.7 billion dollars of home textile exports in 2018 Engin said that “China is the second largest economy in the world with its 1.3 billion people and approximately 23.2 trillion dollars in gross domestic product. As for the trade volume between Turkey and China, the figures are increasing every year. Being Turkey’s first trade partner in East Asia and third in the world in all sectors, China was also in a position of Turkey’s 16th exports partner following Russia and the second import partner.”

“The exhibition has a global importance for our industry”

Noting that they have organized a national participation in Intertextile Shanghai Exhibition for the last 11 years, Engin said, “We are happy to see that Turkish companies are very well-positioned in this market and are gaining prestige with their own brands. In addition, we take part in the portfolio of professional buyers from around the world at every trade show. This way, once again we are witnessing the global importance of this event for our industry. Every year, we have the opportunity to introduce our products by hosting domestic and international wholesalers, production and R&D managers and designers from China, USA, Australia, Japan and South Korea.  In this sense, we see Intertextile Shanghai as an important business event in this region.

“We attach importance to sustainable production”

Engin pointed out the importance of sustainability and said,”Sustainable and environmentally friendly production has become a policy that should be implemented in all industries. Consumers and countries, who get more and more conscious, support this production approach. China and Turkey also attach great importance to sustainable production in textile and other industries. As UTIB, we continue our efforts to raise awareness on this issue. You will see the wide range of Sustainable Textile Products from Turkey inm the forthcoming tradeshows, so keep following us.”
