‘‘TIM President Ismail Gülle: We will Continue Assuming Responsibility for Our Dear Country, Turkey’’

Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM), the unique organization of exporters in Turkey with its 61 exporters union, 27 sectors, and more than 90 thousand exporters, started a mobilization, which continues at full speed, with the slogan ‘‘We manufactured for our exports so far. Now, we produce for our health.’’ in order to produce protective masks and disinfectant chemicals.

President of the Turkey Exporters Assembly Ismail Gülle stated that ‘‘COVID 19 pandemic, which took the world under its influence, deeply shook up international trade and national economies. As TIM, we are struggling with full motivation and capabilities to ensure that both public health and national exports are least affected by this difficult period, and we will continue our endeavors.’’

President of the Turkey Exporters Assembly Ismail Gülle transferred the latest developments related to the mask and disinfectant production mobilization they have carried out with the exporters’ unions within TIM body, and he further expressed the following: ‘‘In addition to our support for exporting businesses, we immediately initiated contacts in order to meet the needs of our healthcare professionals and overcome the current supply shortage. We created an emergency action plan with the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Interior. We have become a bridge to manufacturing companies with USHAŞ, which is the only authority in this regard, and functions under the body of the Ministry of Health. We also included companies, which are voluntarily willing to support production within the framework of our mobilization. We deliver the masks and disinfectants produced within the scope of the mobilization we have started with many major ready-made clothing, chemistry and textile companies to the Ministry of Health. In the mobilization that we started with a daily target of 1 million pieces, we have exceeded the daily production capacity of 15 million masks in a short amount of time. We will advance to even higher than this number in a short time. Once we meet all the protective mask needs of Turkey, the residuary protective masks will be used to carry out in the export operations. We are confident that we will reach up to this figure without any problems. In this context, we repeat our call and invite our producers to support our mobilization endeavor.’’

‘‘We demonstrated our manufacturing power to the world’’

President of the Turkey Exporters Assembly Ismail Gülle reminded that many medical benevolences have been delivered to the countries, which are affected heavily by the coronavirus outbreak and experiencing problems in supplying protective masks and disinfectant chemicals as well as meeting the needs of the domestic medical market. He continued with the following statements: ‘‘On the orders of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, protective mask, overalls, and medical supplies were provided to England, the United States, Italy, Spain, China, Serbia, Iran, and some African countries. In addition, as TIM, we provided protective masks and disinfectant chemical aid to China, Italy, and Spain in contribution with our Ministry of Trade. Turkey’s assistance made possible through the leadership of our President, we demonstrated to the world once again that our country is capable of proceeding its safe and healthy products, and maintain its supply chain in any circumstance. The forthcoming period is also very important to add value to the brand of Turkey and will create a good reference for the development of our export volume.’’

‘‘Our suggestions were met’’

President of the Turkey Exporters Assembly Ismail Gülle further expressed the following: ‘‘Our priority in this difficult period which we are going through hard times is the future of our country Turkey. From the very first day, we have always been in contact with our 61 exporters’ unions and 27 sector councils as TIM by closely monitoring the process. In this period, we instantly conveyed all problems and requests reported from our exporters’ associations, sectoral associations, and exporting companies to the relevant authorities. The Economic Stability Shield, which was announced by our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in order to keep the effects of the global pandemic on our country’s economy to a minimum, has been a very important support mechanism in terms of continuing our manufacturing and exports. During this difficult period, 67 suggestions in general and sectoral nature were shared with the relevant authorities. Through the arrangements made, 40 of them found a satisfactory solution.’’

7/24 Supoort for Exporter Companies

President of the Turkey Exporters Assembly Ismail Gülle finalized his assessments as follows: ‘‘Thanks to our AloTIM application, we continue 7/24 support to our exporters. Exporters can now access TIM at all times from all over the world via Whatsapp, Facebook and Bip applications. We will continue our intensive studies on the subject in line with the demands of our exports for the field members. In this period, we are ready to fulfill whatever our exporting companies and Turkish State expect from us. We will continue assuming responsibility for our dear country, Turkey.’’
