The Turkish home textile sector has made intensive participation in the Heimtextil 2019 exhibition, which is the largest international home textile fair in the world and held in Frankfurt, Germany.

3025 exhibitors from 65 countries* took the international trade fair for home and contract textiles to a 15-year high: “Exhibitors and visitors accepted the new trade fair concept with great enthusiasm.” says Detlef Braun, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt. ‘Around 67,500 visitors* ensured that there was a busy atmosphere in the halls, despite a slight decline due to various reasons, such as difficult travel conditions on account of the storms in the alpine region and airport strikes in Germany.”

284 TURKISH COMPANIES ATTENDED

Turkish Home Textile sector attracted attention with the participation of 284 companies in the Heimtextil-Frankfurt home textile fair. Representing the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association President Ahmet Öksüz and Vice President Ahmet Şişman visited the fair. Also Uludag Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association President Pınar Taşdelen Engin, Association of Turkish Home Textile Industrialists and Businessmen President and İTHİB Board Member Ali Sami Aydın visited the stands of the companies. During the visit, in statements Ahmet Öksüz, Turkey is the world’s 4th largest exporter of home textiles is expressed as 1.9 billion dollars worth of exports carried out in 2018, he said. In addition, Bursa was the city which is the most ensure participation to the fair with 111 companies from Turkey. As part of the Global Fair Agency Project of the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), a 70-member delegation operating in the home textile sector examined the Heimtextil Fair.
