Flokser Textil Produces Animal-Friendly Vegan Leather

Flokser Tekstil, which was founded by Ahmet Rasim Tükek in 1982, continues its activities at full speed in accordance with the European Green Agreement on the basis of sustainability. Flokser Tekstil, which has developed bio-based, vegan, recyclable technical textile products used in many different sectors from home textiles to clothing, from automotive to shoes, exports to more than 60 countries.
The company, which is one of the important suppliers of Turkey and the nearby geography in the production of technical leather and coated fabrics, also completed and commissioned its investments in a high-energy coating line and solvent treatment system in December 2022. The company also plans to increase its export volume with its bio-based, vegan and recyclable products.

Oğuz Tükek, General Manager of Flokser Tekstil, which has broken ground in the field of technical leather and coated fabric in Turkey and has 40 years of industry experience in textile said; “Our ultimate goal is to provide sustainable resource management with strategic investments for the environment and energy efficiency. In 2023, we have served domestically, we will continue to grow by increasing our market share in upholstery, clothing, contract, automotive, shoe, under carpet, bag, accessories, agenda and health sectors. We aim to enable our exports to account for 40% of total turnover. We will increase our R&D activities and investments in bio-based, vegan and recyclable products, which are used in areas such as clothing, automotive and contract, as well as home textiles, and the demand for which is increasing day by day. We believe that we will make a difference in the market, especially with our 100% water-based products that do not contain harmful volatile chemicals, which we will develop in our energy efficient artificial leather production line equipped with Italian technology that we have recently commissioned.”
Oğuz Tükek underlined that Flokser Tekstil, which has an annual production volume of 35 million meters/tulle in its integrated facility established on an area of 65 thousand m2 in Hadımköy, has achieved many firsts in the textile industry. Tükek contunied his words as follows: “We made the first export of artificial leather for clothing, the first production of non-slip under-carpet soles, the first fireproof technical leather production, the first bio-based technical leather production, the first domestic technical leather production for the automotive industry in Turkey. We are the first company in our sector to receive the ISO 9001 Quality Certificate and we are on the list of Turkey’s top 500 industrial enterprises.”

Oguz, “In addition to many innovations that we have made, we are constantly improving our products and processes by using new technologies for an environmentally friendly, sustainable world, especially with our R&D and production team. For this purpose, we increase our eco-friendly product range with bio-based raw materials instead of fossil source raw materials in our product chain. In our products, in which we have to use fossil resources, we reduce the discharge of chemicals that are harmful to nature to zero with our state-of-the-art filtration investments. Therefore, due to the nature of technical leather, we produce animal-friendly vegan leather without harming any animals and without using animal products. The accreditation of all these qualities of our products is also documented by international laboratories,” ended his speech.
