Heberlein’s Latest Innovation New DTY Jet Insert Generation “AP”
News: Özge Çağıl Sütcü
Since 1988, Heberlein is the world-wide leading company for intermingling Jets to produce Draw Twisted Yarns. During these 3 decades, Heberlein has implemented constant further developments on its products. Committed in our past to the desire to find the best products for every customer request and to constantly improve them further, we have now created a new family of DTY jets.
Heberlein Business Development Manager Johannes Ahle attended the ITMA 2023 Press Conference; He made a presentation about the new DTY Jet Insert Generation ‘AP’ solution and the technologies developed by his company. The highlights of the presentation are:
High yarn quality must be maintained while finding energy-saving solutions
As Heberlein our core competence is in the development and production of highly specialised key components for the modification and treatment of synthetic yarns, particularly filament yarns. Thus, we open-up fascinating opportunities with new technologies. Besides maintaining an established product range, Heberlein also systematically ensures innovation. This challenge is met by leading specialists and an efficient infrastructure with flow simulation, yarn analysis, component measurement, and state-of-the-art processing machines.
Compressed air is a cost-intensive resource in the textile value chain. Increasing energy costs or insufficient energy availability are challening. sustainability aspects may also be a reason to find new products to significantly help reducing compressed air and therefore energy costs. While customers are challenged to find solutions of the energy saving for the existing plants, the high yarn quality must be maintained or even improved.
The focus in the industry is on optimized processes and innovative products that help to significantly reduce compressed air and energy costs. Investments in Heberlein jets show a very short amortisation period thanks to high air savings.
The “AP” generation, shown for the first time, represents the consistent further development of the existing Jet insert range for DTY. AP: Advance Performance, e= energy saving ( up to %15), h= high stability (heavy knots)
New DTY Jets significantly reduce costs
By easy “plug&play” exchange of existing jets, the new DTY Jets allow significant costs reduction by means of air savings. Depending on the diameter of the yarn channel, air savings of up to 15% are achievable. While the jet allows savings, there is no need to compromise on quality. The high quality of the yarn is still met with ease.
Considering all installed DTY Jets in the world, an energy saving per year of approximately 1’700 GWh could be achieved. This equals: 113 offshore wind turbines, 28% of Switzerlans’s largest nuclear power piant ‘Beznau 1’ and “Beznau 2”, Approximately 60% of the annual electricity consumption of Zürich, 100% of the annual electricity requirement of the canton Thurgau.
The new generation of nozzles can achieve significant air savings compared to the existing P-series
With the APh series, highest demands on knot stability for downstream processes, such as weaving, are easily met thanks to the new design in Draw Twisting Yarn, and Air Covering. The resulting higher machine speed results in increased productivity. Alternatively, the sizing application can be reduced, which has a positive effect on costs and the environment.
Lufan aspirator for DTY and ATY is the new, ergonomic design allows one-handed operation and offers a high level of operating comfort. Offering the well-known Heberlein quality standards at attractive prices.
Heberlein works with the Textile Lab
Some Innovations need the expertise provided by Heberlein’s textile laboratory located in Wattwil, Switzerland. Experienced experts advise on textiles, procedural and economic issues, and end-use applications of filament yarns. Comprehensive services also include troubleshooting and solutions to process-related problems.
The highlight of the lab is a brand-new DTY pilot machine. This investment is the latest improvement in technical and testing facilities which enables Heberlein to continue the development of trendsetting, high-quality products for customers worldwide.
