“I Believe That ITM 2026 Exhibition will be a Turning Point for Our Industry”
“ITM is an indispensable event for our sector,” commented TEMSAD President Adil Nalbant, adding that the ITM 2026 Exhibition will be a significant turning point for the textile machinery industry.
Adil Nalbant, President of the Textile Machinery and Accessories Industrialists Association (TEMSAD), made important assessments regarding the ITM 2026 Exhibition and the future of the Turkish textile machinery sector. Stating that the ITM Exhibition, with its long history, has now become a globally recognized brand, Nalbant said that the exhibition offers great opportunities for Turkish manufacturers to reach new markets, develop new collaborations, and showcase technological innovations to international visitors.
“Energy Efficiency and Digitalization Stand Out in Next-Generation Machines”
Adil Nalbant stated that Turkish textile machinery manufacturers came to ITM 2026 with significant preparations, adding that sustainability-focused technologies were particularly prominent at the exhibition. He noted that visitors had the opportunity to see new generation machines that reduce carbon footprint and consume less water and energy, saying: “Our colleagues are using digital technologies, Industry 4.0 applications, and smart manufacturing solutions in their machines. Digitalization is of great importance for increasing the competitiveness of the Turkish textile machinery sector, which is positioned between China’s price advantage and Europe’s quality standards.” Nalbant also pointed out that some Turkish manufacturers have developed innovative solutions, noting that environmentally friendly applications such as water-reducing and even waterless dyeing technologies attracted attention at the exhibition.
“2026 is a Critical Year for the Textile Machinery Sector”
Emphasizing that 2026 is a critical year for the textile machinery sector, Nalbant stated that the sector needs to shift towards higher value-added production. He said that textile machinery manufacturers and textile industrialists should work together to create a new roadmap, adding, “We need to cooperate to produce higher quality technical textiles and value-added products. ITM 2026 offers a significant opportunity in this regard. We believe this exhibition will be a turning point for the sector.”
“Istanbul Has Strategic Importance in the Success of the Exhibition”
Nalbant, commenting that “The ITM 2026 Exhibition is the Turkish textile machinery manufacturers’ own show, their own organization,” said: “The biggest advantage of this is that we have the opportunity to introduce our machines and new technologies to both our own textile industrialists and other textile-producing countries in our region.”
Highlighting the strategic importance of Istanbul in the success of the exhibition, Nalbant stated that the city’s geographical location and ease of access provide significant advantages for visitors. Nalbant also mentioned that the ease of visa procedures has been effective in increasing the number of international visitors.

Stating that Türkiye is an important center not only for its own market but also for textile investments in neighboring countries, Nalbant said that Turkish textile machinery is used in different geographies. Expressing that the Turkish textile sector has a strong position in markets such as Egypt, Uzbekistan, Middle Eastern countries, and Russia, Nalbant commented, “There is a large market with approximately 700 million people around us. Turkish textile manufacturers and Turkish textile machinery manufacturers can play an important role in developing the textile production of these countries.” Nalbant stated that within the scope of ITM 2026, purchasing delegations from different countries were brought to the fair in cooperation with TEMSAD, Teknik Fuarcılık, and TÜYAP; and that sector representatives from Bangladesh, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Russia, and India participated in the exhibition.
“ITM is Indispensable for Our Sector”
When asked to describe ITM 2026 in one word, Adil Nalbant responded with “indispensable,” emphasizing that the exhibition is an essential event for the Turkish textile sector. Nalbant stated, “If Türkiye is a textile country, then textiles will always exist. ITM is one of the most important platforms where the textile sector and the machinery sector meet, showcasing the strength of our sector.”
“The Textile Sector will Return to Its Strong Days”
Nalbant stated that the textile sector is one of the sectors most affected by global economic developments, but despite the difficulties, they are hopeful about the future of textiles. He noted that diversifying production centers is becoming increasingly important globally, saying, “Recent developments have shown that relying on a single production center is not the right approach. In this period of emerging new production centers, Türkiye’s expertise, production capabilities, and strong machinery in textiles provide a significant advantage.” Nalbant added that Türkiye has no other sector with such a strong production infrastructure on the same scale as textiles, saying, “Türkiye is a textile country. Textiles will never end. In fact, we believe that with the right steps, the sector will return to its former strong days.”
