Isbir Sentetik “In Top 20 Among The Second 500 Industrial Enterprises”
Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), announced the results of the research which including the data of the 2019 of industry organizations, “ISO Turkey’s Second Top 500 Industrial Enterprises 2019. ”
According to the announced data, the production sales of the ISO Second 500 companies increased by 14.2 percent and rose from 137.5 billion TL to 157 billion TL in 2019. Two of the İşbir Holding companies, took its place among the largest organizations in the research of the “Turkey’s Second Top 500 Industrial Enterprises 2019.” In the research, according to the size of sales from production; Isbir Sentetik is in the 19th place and Isbir Sünger is in the 232rd place.
Isbir Sentetik, which is one of the first synthetic weaving companies in Turkey and operates in the fields of technical textiles and industrial packaging, exports 70% of its production.
The company has doubled its capacity in the last 4 years, reaching an annual production capacity of 48,000 tons. Producing at world standards with modern technology, Isbir Sünger continues to be one of the leading company in the domestic sector by serving more than 3000 customers.
Major part of the production is for foreign markets
2019 has been a year when protectionism and slowdown in world trade made it difficult for SMEs to participate in global value and supply chains. Therefore, this increase in 2019 indicated that the growth performance in sales slowed down compared to the increases of 30.9 percent in 2017 and 27.8 percent in 2018. Slowdown in the world economy experienced in 2019, were also negatively affected directly and indirectly to SMEs in Turkey. Although Turkish SMEs were more affected by this slowdown than large companies, companies in the ISO Second 500 increased their exports by 9.4 percent.
