Mayer Mümessillik to Showcase Mayer & Cie. Portfolio at ITM 2026
At ITM 2026, Mayer Mümessillik, long-standing agent of the German circular knitting machine manufacturer Mayer & Cie., will showcase a selection from the company’s current product portfolio. The presentation at booth 303B in hall 3 will also include some of the latest machines. Mayer & Cie. is now owned by Xu Hongjie, who will also be present at the booth.
Mayer & Cie. is currently in a transition phase. While Chinese authorities have already approved the transaction, approval from the German authorities required to complete the process is still pending. In the meantime, the successor company is preparing its restart with a new – yet well-known – team that is steadily growing.
“ITM is one of the most important trade fairs in the textile machinery industry, and Türkiye is one of our key markets worldwide,” says Stefan Bühler. The long-standing Area Sales Manager has recently rejoined the Mayer & Cie. successor company. He adds: “Accordingly, Mayer & Cie.’s participation in ITM 2026 carries significant importance.”
Mayer & Cie.’s New Owner will Meet Visitors at ITM 2026
At least two circular knitting machines will be featured at the Mayer Mümessillik booth at ITM 2026. Customers and visitors will have the opportunity to explore a selection of the current product portfolio and meet the new owner in person. “We are very happy to have him here,” says Kahraman Güveri, partner at Mayer Mümessillik.
“We have always been convinced of the excellent engineering and technology of Mayer & Cie. machines,” he adds. Güveri welcomes that Mayer & Cie. has found an investor and sees great potential in the restart: “The new owner combines German textile machinery tradition with a global mindset and an agile management philosophy.”
Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Istanbul, Mayer Mümessillik Tekstil Tic. Ltd. Şti. has been a trusted partner of Mayer & Cie. for over 30 years. As the exclusive representative for circular knitting machines in Türkiye, the company has established itself as a key player in the country’s textile machinery market.
Successful Closing Paves the Way for Mayer & Cie.’s Future
Mayer & Cie. initiated insolvency proceedings in December 2025. In February 2026, Xu Hongjie, a member of the family that owns Huixing, acquired the circular knitting business. The purchase agreement was signed on February 9.
The closing process was completed in April. Closing marks the final milestone in the transfer of assets from Mayer & Cie.’s circular knitting division to Xu Hongjie. All negotiations, due diligence processes, and legal agreements have been successfully completed. The required approvals from all relevant authorities have also been obtained. These include, in particular, approvals from the competent Chinese authorities for outbound investment as well as the certificate of non-objection from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
“We are very pleased that the process has now been successfully completed,” says Xu Hongjie on behalf of his family. “We are convinced of the unique value of the brand, the quality of the machines, and are deeply impressed by the technical expertise of the new team.” The young entrepreneur adds that he is very proud to now be part of this team. With the completion of the process, the company is now able to fully resume its business operations.
Mayer & Cie. and Huixing: Separate Brands, Focus On Synergies
The collaboration between Mayer & Cie. and Huixing is based on synergy, not substitution. Mayer & Cie. will operate independently with a clear strategic focus, specifically serving the premium segment with German engineering at the highest level.
Huixing, by contrast, operates in a diAerent market segment. By keeping the brands clearly separate while sharing overarching market expertise, the owner aims to address a broader range of customer needs.
