More Than 335 Tons of Textile Waste Were Recycled
Altınyıldız made 6 million plastic bottles into fabric in 2022. In this way, the company prevented 155 tons of CO2 gas from entering the atmosphere. Making approximately 3.4 million pet bottles wearable in 2021 by using 62.5 tons of GRS-certified recycled polyester fiber, Altınyıldız doubled its contribution to nature. Positioned as a brand that has introduced Turkish fabric to the world since its establishment in 1952, the company accelerated its investments in digitalization and sustainable textiles. Working with the world’s most effective recycling companies, GRS certified polyester fiber obtained from pet bottles has been made wool blended into outerwear fabrics in its factory in Çerkezköy. Altınyıldız made 6 million plastic bottles wearable in 2022.
Altınyıldız saved 510 thousand liters of water thanks to its effective production management and prevented 155 tons of CO2 gas from entering the atmosphere. Altnyldz’s efforts in this area have prevented the electricity needs of 66 households for one year, the drinking water needs of 669 people for one year, and CO2 emissions from the consumption of 360 barrels of oil.
Altınyıldız contributed 76% to nature in 2022
Altınyıldız, which expanding its vision of respect for nature, increased the rate of plastic bottles it converts into fabric. Altınyıldız made approximately 3.4 million pet bottles wearable by using 62.5 tons of GRS-certified recycled polyester fiber in 2021, increasing its contribution to nature by 76% in 2022. Altınyıldız, which exports these fabrics to its customers in Europe and America, also prepares collections from this fabric production for Boyner’s private brands.
Altınyıldız, which, in line with its sustainability goals, also increased its target in the field of effective recycling and ensured that more than 335 tons of textile waste, which was released during the production processes in 2022, was recycled as raw material for new textile products.
