By this means, Pimms is among the first preferred companies in the industry with its after-sales technical services, accurate technical solutions, customer-oriented working principles, and well-deserved reliability.
We conducted an exclusive interview with Selahattin Aygüler, the Chairman of the Pimms Group, which continues to provide high-quality services to Turkey’s leading companies, for ‘Digital Printing Technologies‘ special that will be printed in this month’s Textile Technology magazine.
As Pimms Group, what are your plans and targets related to 2020?
The recession and stillness in the markets that started last year are still in effect, especially in the textile industry. At the beginning of 2020, our expectations were high in terms of the businesses would bloom this year. But because of the panic caused by the coronavirus in China, we estimate that things will progress slowly in the first six months of 2020.
But towards the second half of 2020, if we can move the manufacturing of vast volumes of textile products to Turkey, therefore tackle the production disadvantage caused by the coronavirus epidemic in China, we will convert the situation to our advantage and the businesses will prosper in a short span of time. Since our stocks are sufficient, we are content that we will be able to meet the demands. This will be a good opportunity for companies that intend to grow their business after the second half of 2020. Pimms has always been an exemplary company with its leadership characteristics. We will continue with this leadership mission in 2020, too.
Could you please provide brief information about the innovations in textile digital printing technologies that you are representing?
Homer Company, which we are responsible for its distribution, will continue to serve the industry with new machinery models.
It is a difficult job to accomplish the same print quality and colors in large productions by printing with different machines in the same pattern and the same quality. Because of this reason, digital printing suppliers were constantly exposed to providing repeating claim prints and were losing money. The production of four or five machines of this type, when done with a single machine, both allow to keep up the quality and eliminates the repeating claim prints. Homer Company, keeping this fact in mind, produced a digital printing machine in the past period that can print 320 m² in a single pass production. In 2020, with the new model Homer HM1800R-Turbo, it introduced the machine to the market with a total of 8 Kyocera heads and featuring cross-arraying, which is capable of producing 540 m² per hour in a single pass production. We think that this model will be preferred especially by the companies that deal with exports and produce in high quantities.
We also offer the Homer HM3200R model to the market as a modified version that can apply a direct print on fabric, as well as printing on transfer paper.
How do you assess the textile printing and digital printing industries in Turkey?
Considering the changes in fashion, it has been observed that there has been a decrease in the production amounts in the sublimation printing market that we addressed, compared to previous years. We consider that the present production amounts may increase if the fashion designers of this year create different models that include digital printing and other related designs.
Which machines will you highlight at the ITM 2020 Exhibition? Do you mind sharing its features with us?
At the ITM 2020 Exhibition, we will introduce two models that are specially produced for professional manufacturers that operate in high-speeds. The first is the Homer HM1800R Turbo model, which has 8 Kyocera print heads, and that can print on the transfer paper with 180 cm printing width and 540 m² printing speed in a single pass production per hour. This model also features an optional attribute, Jumbo Roll, which allows it to put in large-sized printing paper coils (up to 200 kg). The second model that will be introduced is the Homer HM3200R model with 4 Kyocera print heads, which can print 360 m² on transfer paper with a printing width of 330 cm and 360 m² printing speed in a single pass production per hour.
For our manufacturers operating in the scope of direct printing on fabric, we will exhibit our own brand Axia Direct 3203, with 3 Epson 4720 print heads, which is designed for indoor textile and bedding manufacturers. This model can print and fix at the same time directly on fabrics such as cotton and polyester at 320 cm printing width.
We will continue to offer campaigns and advantageous purchasing opportunities special to our 40th Foundation year for those companies, which started production recently and the ones that operate in small production amounts. The model that we recommend for this type of establishments is the Axia Tex 1803 Black Diamon model with 3 Epson 4720 print heads, which is capable of printing on transfer paper with a print width of 180 cm. On this occasion, we would like to invite valuable visitors to our booth at the ITM 2020 Exhibition.
