Procurement Committee from Ten Countries Came to Bursa for Ecological Textile
The Ecological Textiles Product Development (Ür-Ge) project organized by Uludağ Textile Exporters’ Association (UTIB) was held in Bursa. In the fifth buyer delegation event organized to strengthen the presence of ecological textiles in international markets, the foundations of new collaborations were laid.
UTIB’s Ecological Textiles Ur-Ge Project is carried out with the support of the Ministry of Trade within the framework of the Decree No. 5973 on Export Supports.
The procurement committee event organized within this scope was held with the participation of 8 companies in the Ur-Ge set membership In the event; procurement committees of approximately 70 people from England, Spain, Italy, Poland, Netherlands, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Albania and Belarus were hosted. In addition, new markets and cooperation opportunities were offered to UTIB member companies through B2B meetings. In the project, which contributes to the understanding of sustainability and value-added production, the leading companies of the textile industry exhibited their products and the foundations of important collaborations were laid.
Pınar Taşdelen Engin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of UTIB, who made evaluations about the event, stated that sustainability and environmentally friendly production increase value-added exports in the textile sector. Pınar Taşdelen Engin: “It is not enough to produce only the best product, we should focus on environmentally friendly and value-added production to increase competitiveness.”

Emphasizing that the Ecological Textiles Ur-Ge Project provides added value to the production of member companies, Taşdelen Engin,President of UTİB said: “Within the scope of the Ur-Ge project, our set membership companies are trained at the standards of developed countries. In this context, the understanding of sustainability and environmentally friendly production has become mandatory today. While our textile sector strengthens its position in global markets, this buyer delegation organization will further increase its export capacity.”
