Rieter’s COMPACT4: A New Universal Solution for Compact Spinning
Compact spinning is the technology of choice for premium yarn quality. At ITM 2026 in Istanbul in June, Rieter introduced a new universal compact-spinning solution designed for consistently high yarn quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Engineered for top performance across a wide range of raw materials, yarn counts and types, COMPACT4 enables spinning mills to meet rising quality demands while maintaining competitive production costs.
COMPACT4 is a universal compacting solution for Rieter ring spinning machines and retrofit installations. Its precisely controlled compacting technology ensures stable, high performance at every spinning position, enabling the production of high‑quality compact yarns across diverse applications.
Alp Karakayalı, Factory Manager of Burteks Tekstil in Türkiye, is already working with the solution and states: “I would recommend COMPACT4 to other spinning mills looking for decent investment costs while increasing production without compromising on quality.”
One Solution, Countless Applications
COMPACT4 covers the widest application range in the compact-spinning segment. It produces carded and combed yarns made from cotton, viscose, polyester and their blends in yarn counts from Ne 16 to Ne 100. Single and twin yarns are supported as standard, while slub and core yarns are available on request.
Four insert‑clip variants allow fast adaptation to different yarn structures and counts. Each clip covers a wide application range, minimizing changeover time and supporting flexible production planning – a key advantage for spinning mills facing frequent product changes.
Reliable Operation and High Productivity at Low Twist
COMPACT4 is engineered for reliable, uninterrupted operation, even at reduced twist level. Integrated micro‑dust cleaning reduces manual cleaning and supports stable and clean production conditions. Thanks to its aerodynamic nozzle design, choking is minimized, enabling excellent compact spinning.
High Yarn Quality with Low Energy Consumption
Uniform compacting combined with optimized airflow results in smooth yarn surfaces with low hairiness and high yarn strength. Separately adjustable suction for compacting and fiber waste allows precise energy management. The double‑sided suction concept ensures energy efficient performance even on long machines, delivering outstanding cost efficiency over the entire machine lifetime
