Technological Machines for the Production of Masks from Spoolex Brands
Cyrille Pontet, General Manager of Spoolex
Spoolex is involved in textile and nonwovens industries through its Calemard®, Decoup+® and Roll Concept® brands, since 1955.
Expert in tension control, Calemard® offers the best unwinding, slitting and rewinding technologies. Today, with almost 700 large slitter-rewinders, 3 000 narrow spooling heads and more than 315 jumbo spooling heads in production worldwide Calemard® offers a full range of reliable and adaptable equipment for tension sensitive products.
On the other hand, Decoup+® is specialized in ultrasonic cutting and sealing technologies and offers an industrial range of reliable solutions. Then Roll Concept® engineers and manufactures low inertia rolls for industrial applications.
Offers Solutions to Mask Manufacturers
Worldwide, Spoolex’s customers have to face with an increasing demand of health products. To support them, Spoolex has of course adapted its organization to protect all the employees whilst maintaining support to the customers.
Roll Concept® manufactures and delivers its technical rollers to major face mask machine manufacturers. With production capacities up to 300 masks/min, machines need high technical rollers with very low inertia in rotation.
Thanks to its patented Alveotube profile in stock in its workshop, Roll Concept® is able to react quickly to provide tailored made and easy to install low inertia rolls. As regards latest news, Roll Concept is also now the exclusive distributor in Europe and Turkey of DFE, an American company specialized in tension control systems and devices used on unwinding, slitting or rewinding applications.
Decoup+® has successfully adapted a sealing machine
On the other hand, Decoup+® has successfully adapted a manual sealing machine to produce face masks. Because it performs clean and resistant seams, ultrasounds are mainly used for quick manufacturing face mask operations. The Decoup+® ‘s ultrasonic welding station is an independent and ergonomic working station, easy to use, affordable and perfectly adapted to small and medium size series.
Decoup+ also offers a range of ultrasonic cutting devices to be integrated on flat looms for clean and unravelling edges and a new optimized generator i-Novus type, for more process stability and even more comfort of use.
Then, Calemard® has always supported requests either for spooling machine or for wide slitter and has even been able to deliver machines to cover need for wide slitting textiles nd non-woven. Indeed, some decades ago, Calemard has decided to take the turn of Industry 4.0 to help its customer to answer their productivity, quality and safety growth. This risk-taking has allowed the company to anticipate and to acquire expertise on many developments and especially on remote control services.
“Adaptability and full support are our trademark”
Cyrille Pontet, General Manager to explain: “Last March, our activity in textile and nonwoven industries increased! To answer the demand both for wipes and face masks markets, we had to implement appropriate solutions to safely ensure supply of spare parts and of course new machinery or retrofit.”
Cyrille Pontet to resume: “No matter the distance and the constraints, the whole Spoolex’s teams are always committed to support their customers worldwide. The most important, whatever surrounding situation, is for our customer to be able to produce high quality products even if the “historical way of working” has to be updated. Adaptability and full support are our trademark.”
