“The Sector Holds Its Ground”
Zeynal Abidin Kaplan, Chairman of the Southeastern Anatolian Carpet Exporters’ Association, told AA that despite numerous economic challenges, the carpet industry has managed to maintain its export figures. He emphasized that the sector continues to develop new projects to both preserve its market share and boost exports: “We are now reaping the rewards of our trade delegations to distant countries. Through promotional activities and delegations, we are opening up to markets where we previously had no sales. Over the past two years, we’ve seen a remarkable increase in our exports to Japan. Our efforts continue in countries such as Malaysia, Australia, Mauritania, Senegal, and India. Given the current trend, I believe we will maintain last year’s export figures by the end of this year.”
