We Hosted Visitors from Many Countries of the World at HIGHTEX 2024
Daniel Ohndorf, Area Sales Manager at emtec, said: “It has only been four or five years since we started to introduce our device to the textile industry. The pandemic occurred right after we entered the industry. Therefore, it is great importance for us to meet with customers again at HIGHTEX 2024 in order to further introduce our device to the textile industry.”
HIGHTEX 2024 International Technical Textiles and Nonwovens Fair held in Istanbul brought together companies offering innovative solutions in the technical textiles sector. One of the exhibitors of the exhibition was the German company emtec Electronic. The company introduced the TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer, one of its latest innovations in the field of objective tactile measurement for textiles and nonwovens at HIGHTEX 2024.
The emtec TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer represents a significant advancement in haptic testing technology. Based on a measuring principle that simulates the human fingertips, the portable lab device evaluates the hand-feel of fabrics with unprecedented accuracy and efficiency, measuring softness, smoothness, and stretch and recovery parameters within two minutes. Comparisons to results with traditional hand-panel testing methods using “touch experts” reveal a correlation of up to 100%.
emtec Area Sales Manager Daniel Ohndorf explained that the tactile analyzer objectively measures key parameters such as the macrostructure, surface roughness and elasticity of a sample. By simulating the tactile sensation of the human hand, the machine eliminates the subjectivity factor and provides an objective measurement of softness independent of the operator. This clarifies the concept of softness, which has often been the subject of debate between customers and suppliers in the past.
Ohndorf said the machine offers many opportunities for research, quality control and benchmarking. The machine independently measures parameters such as roughness, softness and elasticity, obtaining a separate number for each. This opens the door to various applications in production or textile processing. The aim is for the machine to become an industry standard in the textile industry. Ohndorf explained that the machine is already used as a standard in the paper industry and that they aim for the same success in the textile and nonwoven industry.
Ohndorf emphasized the importance of meeting customers again after the pandemic and continued: “It has only been four or five years since we started to introduce our machine to the textile industry. The pandemic occurred right after we entered the industry. Therefore, it is great importance for us to meet with customers again in order to further introduce our machine to the textile industry.”
Ohndorf said that since Istanbul is very well connected with the world, customers from Asia, Europe and even the United States come together at the HIGHTEX 2024 Exhibition and added, “As far as I have seen so far, visitors from many countries are visiting the exhibition. This indicates that we will have a very successful exhibition.”
