Innovations Combining Technology and Sustainability: Cavimelt Pro and Santaframe
A strong commitment to sustainability in textile finishing is at the core of two innovative systems the Santex Rimar Group will present at ITMA Asia. Cavimelt Pro and Santaframe show how the combination of technology and sustainability brings solutions that perfectly meet the needs of finishers.
By installing the Cavimelt Pro and Santaframe machines on its booth (E02 in Hall H5) at the show, the company demonstrates both latest technology and its ‘eco-attitude’ to visitors.
New Bi-Functional Hotmelt Laminating Machine: Cavimelt Pro
The Cavitec brand of Santex Rimar Group is the world leader in coating, laminating and impregnating. Cavimelt Pro is the new bi-functional hotmelt laminating machine, which enables fast and easy switching between rotogravure and full-surface coating, thanks to new technology.
Full-surface coating is established in mattress ticking and grinding paper production. Applications for rotogravure include breathable active wear, protective wear, lingerie, upholstery, automotive interiors, hygiene and medical products, and technical composites. Cavimelt Pro is also designed for sensitive materials and innovative applications. It offers the flexibility for membranes from 5 micrometres and foam of 20 millimetres thick.
The multi-roller coating machine applies precise mechanical control of tension and pressure – even on the full roll width. Accurate temperature control is also essential for reliable adjustments and constant coating spread.
Cavimelt Pro users can achieve unmatched coating results and high sustainability standards – the ultimate in customer requirements. The hotmelt technology is environmentally-friendly, free of solvents and water. As no drying or sintering is necessary, Cavimelt Pro also saves energy.

Santaframe – soft and economical
Santex, the other Swiss brand of Santex Rimar Group, leads in finishing knitted fabrics of cotton, blends and viscose. Combining low energy use and top performance, its specialised technology delivers benefits of low residual shrinkage, excellent surface lustre and soft handle.
The high-performance Santaframe stenter now returns in a new version with high-quality processing and rapid payback. The stenter offers top-quality processing of knitted and woven fabrics. Energy-saving innovations drive sustainable production with low CO2 values. Minimal energy use is based on a unique air-flow technique with the Aero-Surf nozzle system, in which the fabric is conveyed on a cushion of air. By directly using residual heat from exhaust air, the system saves even more energy.
Unlike conventional units, the Santex Energy Saving Chamber (ESC) applies hot exhaust air directly to preheat the incoming moist fabric. This results in energy savings of up to 25% by optimal use of residual heat, using the material itself as a heat recovery medium – possible only because of the uniquely even distribution of heating air and the integrated exhaust ducting.
In fact the ESC boosts productivity in finishing by up to 20% and the resultant fabric displays softer handle and better shrinkage values.
