Özbilim drew significant attention at the Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition with its textile machines enhanced by artificial intelligence and automation. “Machines can easily detect defects that the human eye cannot perceive,” said Özbilim General Manager Güven Öz, emphasizing that they are leading the technological transformation in the sector.
As one of Turkiye’s leading textile and garment machinery manufacturers, Özbilim became a focal point at the Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition with its automatic fabric spreading, cutting, and AI-supported inspection machines. In an interview with the company’s General Manager, Güven Öz, the impact of their technological investments on industry transformation and the business collaboration opportunities provided by the exhibition were discussed.
Providing information about the products showcased at the exhibition, Güven Öz stated: “We are introducing our automatic fabric spreading and cutting machines, along with fabric inspection machines equipped with artificial intelligence.” Speaking on the integration of AI into their machines, Öz highlighted that this process requires a robust infrastructure and long-term software development:
“Artificial intelligence is a living system. Every piece of information creates a new folder, a new recipe. Thanks to our fabric inspection machine, areas where the human eye gets tired and prone to error can now be handled more precisely by machines.”
Commenting on the exhibition being held in Istanbul, Öz noted that the location provided great convenience for participants, offering advantages in terms of transportation and accommodation. He also emphasized that they established significant connections throughout the event, both domestically and internationally:
“We had the opportunity to meet face-to-face with end users from abroad and companies considering dealership agreements. It also opened up great opportunities for R&D collaborations.”
Sharing his expectations for the future of the textile industry, Öz stressed that they are preparing for this transformation through their investments in technology. “We’re increasing production efficiency by enabling communication between machines,” he said. Expressing cautious optimism for 2025, Güven Öz noted that despite economic slowdowns both in Turkiye and globally, production and technological investments can help overcome these challenges.
