Interview: Tuğba KARADEMİR
Yiğit S. Manav, representative of LGM, stated that they stood out at the Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition with their semi-autonomous production solutions. Highlighting that their newly introduced T-shirt robot is a world first, Manav emphasized their role in leading the technological transformation of the industry.
Held in Istanbul Expo Center, the Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition brought together the garment and ready-to-wear industry together with cutting-edge technologies. Among the exhibitors, Yiğit S. Manav from LGM shared with us the company’s latest innovations, industry trends, and expectations for the rest of 2025.
“We Are Boosting Production Capacity with Semi-Autonomous Solutions”
Explaining their approach, Yiğit S. Manav said: “At this exhibition, we are presenting our most innovative products, designed to help manufacturers increase their production capacity in the most effective way through semi-autonomous systems. They are not fully autonomous yet, as our products currently do not include AI support. However, with our ironing, pressing, and workstation systems, manufacturers can still achieve maximum efficiency.”
Despite ongoing economic difficulties both globally and in Turkiye, Manav expressed satisfaction with the interest shown at the exhibition: “We had high expectations for the Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition. We invited customers from all over the world, and they responded positively. Throughout these four days, we are introducing our latest machines.”
“We Continue Our R&D and P&D Studies”
Discussing industry trends, Manav noted that while demand for jackets has been rising again post-pandemic, their R&D efforts remain focused on broader innovation:
“Previously, we introduced our 4-unit trouser robot. Now, with increasing demand for jackets, we still continue to innovate. At this exhibition, we’re proud to showcase our newly developed T-shirt robot — a world first. We’ve also applied for its patent. Sharing this innovation with manufacturers around the globe is a source of pride for us.”
“Our 2025 Orders were Full”
Regarding the company’s current performance, Manav shared:“We’ve practically closed our international orders for 2025. I can say that all our expectations for this year have already been fulfilled. While the domestic market seems slower this year, we anticipate a recovery by 2026.”
Evaluating the overall exhibition experience, Manav concluded: “Today is the second day of the exhibtion, and so far, it’s been going very well. Being able to present our T-shirt robot — a product that no one else in the world has developed — and sharing the details of our patent application is incredibly meaningful for us. We also believe the upcoming Garment Tech Istanbul Exhibition’s will be just as successful.”
