Textile and Ready-to-Wear Fairs to Strengthen Through EGSD and EIB Collaboration
The Aegean Clothing Manufacturers’ Association (EGSD) and the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) are enhancing their cooperation to increase participation in textile and ready-to-wear trade fairs and to develop joint projects in the sector.
Yasin Akçakaya, Chairman of the Board of EGSD, along with vice chairs and board members, visited Jak Eskinazi, the Coordinator Chairman of EIB, and Burak Sertbaş, Chairman of the Aegean Apparel Exporters’ Association. During the visit, opportunities for collaboration to boost participation in trade fairs and develop joint initiatives in the textile and ready-to-wear sectors were discussed.
A Decision to Work in Coordination for Trade Fairs
At the meeting, it was agreed to act jointly to increase participation in both domestic and international trade fairs, particularly IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Bridal, Groom, and Evening Wear Fair, Fashion Prime, and Fashion Tech İzmir Fairs. This will help ensure the active participation of industry firms in these events.
“We will Contribute to Our City and Industry”
EGSD Chairman Yasin Akçakaya stated, “As an association, we are involved in organizing many successful fairs in İzmir. These fairs significantly contribute to both the industry’s development and the growth of our city. Our goal is to advance the sector further through joint projects with EIB. We have received great support from EIB in this regard. By strengthening our cooperation, we aim to contribute even more to both İzmir and our industry.”
“We will Create Synergy Through Joint Projects”
Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator Chairman of EIB, said, “We are proud to be a member of EGSD. We are always ready for closer collaboration for the benefit of the sector and İzmir. Through this visit, we emphasized the importance of developing joint projects. We will unite our efforts to ensure the success of trade fairs. I believe significant projects will emerge from the collaboration between these two institutions.”
“Fairs Open Doors to New Markets”
Burak Sertbaş, Chairman of the Aegean Apparel Exporters’ Association, noted, “Trade fairs are crucial for our exporters. At a recent fair we attended in the U.S., our sector representatives discovered new market opportunities. Inviting new buyers to İzmir’s fairs is also critical. We must act together on this matter.”
At the end of the visit, EGSD Chairman Yasin Akçakaya presented Jak Eskinazi and Burak Sertbaş with an olive sapling and a sapling donation certificate on behalf of the Aegean Forest Foundation to commemorate the occasion.
