A New Zero-Waste Era for the Textile Industry!
With a new initiative launched by the Zero Waste Foundation and PTT, unused clothing and textile products will be collected and given a second life. Through Clothing and Textile Collection Bins to be installed at PTT branches, collected items will either be delivered to people in need if suitable for reuse or sent for recycling, contributing to both the environment and the economy.
The Zero Waste Movement, launched under the leadership of Emine Erdoğan, wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, continues to grow into a global movement for good. Expanding its environmental initiatives, the Zero Waste Foundation has signed an important cooperation agreement with PTT, launching a landmark project focused on textile waste.

Unused Clothing Will Be Collected in Textile Collection Bins
Under the newly introduced initiative, clothing, shoes, and various textile products no longer used by citizens will be collected at designated collection points established in PTT branches. The aim is to ensure that reusable items are put back into use, while recyclable materials are recovered and returned to the economy.
As part of the cooperation between the Zero Waste Foundation and PTT, textile waste will be collected in “Clothing and Textile Collection Bins” installed at PTT branches.
Reusable Items Will Be Delivered to People in Need
The collected items will undergo a sorting process. Clothing determined to be suitable for reuse will be distributed to people in need through social assistance organizations after undergoing the necessary hygiene procedures. Textile products that are not suitable for reuse will be sent to recycling facilities, where they will be processed as raw materials for the production of new products. Reusable garments will be separated and delivered to those in need. (AA)
Protecting the Environment While Reducing Waste
The project aims to prevent textile waste from ending up in landfill sites, reduce the consumption of natural resources, and support a more sustainable production model. At the same time, it seeks to generate both environmental and economic benefits by bringing unused products back into the economy.
Planned to Expand Across Türkiye
The initiative, jointly implemented by PTT and the Zero Waste Foundation, is planned to be expanded across a wider area throughout Türkiye in the coming period. It is emphasized that every item donated by citizens will contribute both to environmental protection and social solidarity, while also strengthening zero-waste awareness across all segments of society.
