“It is Not Only Our Product That Makes Us, But The Way We Do Business”
Mersan Machinery Co. which was established in 1983 to produce textile finishing machines, use the knowledge and experience that it has had since the day the company has established to date to identify and establish the most appropriate solutions for its customers’ needs.
We interviewed with Çağatay Sümer, General Manager of Mersan Makine, which gives great importance to achieving high quality standards in production, differentiation and product development. Sümer gave information about the company’s production and activities and told their expectations for 2020.
Mersan Makine has been one of the manufacturers in the Turkish textile sector for 36 years. In this context, can you explain the most important features that distinguish your company’s products from the products of other brands? What are the reasons your customers choose you?
As Mersan Makine, we have a perspective that loves to produce and is open to development. We aim to have a corporate culture that takes steps to improve quality focus and service quality. We attach great importance to achieving high quality standards in production, differentiation, product development. Process and product diversity are the main elements that distinguish us from our competitors. We believe that our future depends on our ability to satisfy our customers. We continue this wish for our customers by providing superior quality and service and we remain as a reliable partner for our customers. With the ties of affection we have established with our customers for 36 years, we attach importance not only to a customer-supplier relationship but also to the formation of a culture. We believe that development can be together. It is not only our product that makes us, but the way we do business.
Can you give information about your company’s dominance in Turkish and world market?
We produce machines for the whole world with our many representatives in the world and design products that will provide added value to the environment and society. In our factory and workshop equipped with modern technology, we produce machines to more than 30 countries on 4 continents.
What does innovation and R & D mean to you? Can we listen to your work and the latest innovations in this field?
Mersan Makine believes in the quality control process about R & D and the optimization of human resources and industrial resources. Using the most advanced technology, our company makes original production in its own R & D department with its expert staff and offers professional solutions to its customers. We can say that we have come forward with chain, felt sanforizing machine for open width knitted fabrics, rubber blanket sanforizing machine, singeing machine for open knitted woven fabrics. Providing the desired smooth surface in knitted fabrics, while guaranteeing the desired nonshrink values in the fabric, fixing in size and our open width sanfor machine, which we developed to give the fabric a perfect touch, gives high production speed and optimum fabric quality. In particular, we have developed our new rubber blanket sanforizing machine which gives extra brightness, touch and appearance to differentiate it from other fabrics.
Singeing process for knitted and woven fabrics is the outer surface to beautify the apperance of the fabric and developing the features of the next producing processes. The same operation can be applied to the inner surface of the fabric. Thanks to the gas-air mixture from two parallel slot nozzles with water cooled vals and rollers and uninterrupted flame band, we provide cleaning process by burning the excess fibers on the fabric. At the same time, the singeing machine provides the most desired process for rotation printing and part printing. It recover the fibers on the fabric. This improves print quality and reduces waste. Energy, water, time and chemicals are saved.
How do you evaluate the current situation of the Turkish textile sector?
In the continuation of the large investments made many years ago, the Turkish textile sector gained a significant place in the world market. The quality it created with the start of taking share from European countries in terms of fashion and design increased the export. Textile exports continues to be the leading force in Turkey. With the growth of textile industry and quality standards, it contributes to the development of domestic machinery production sector.
What do you expect from 2020? What are your goals?
In this new year, we aim to provide the necessary information to the experts for the promotion and use of the new technologies we bring to the sector and our country by gaining new customers.
