‘‘As MS Printing We Will Continue to Invest in Turkey’’
Murat Özkıray, Dover Turkey MS Printing Solutions Sales Manager
MS Printing Solutions, one of the leading manufacturers of digital textile printing machinery, operates in the Turkish market for many years. MS Printing established its own office as Dover Turkey and continued its operations since 2015. Through its office, the company provides direct services to its business partners such as expert sales and after-sales support, technical service team, local spare parts warehouse, and the Demo and Training Center.
We conducted an interview with Dover Turkey MS Printing Solutions Sales Manager Murat Özkıray for the special section for ‘Digital Textile Technologies’ magazine. Özkıray stated that all departments within the company are working in harmony with each other since the start of the pandemic period and that they overcame this troublesome period without causing any kind of inconvenience for their customers. Özkıray said, ‘‘In 2020, there was a significant increase in the use and production rates of our existing digital machines.’’
How would you describe 2020 for your company? How has the pandemic period particularly affected your company and the digital printing industry?
As in all industries and all over the world, 2020 has been such a year for us that our habits in conducting business changed and we had to adapt quickly to this period. As MS Turkey Office, we are currently in operation with our sales, after-sales support, and technical service teams. All of our departments worked in harmony with each other and we got through this process without causing any kind of inconvenience for their customers. We observed a significant decrease in investment initiatives due to fluctuations caused by lockdowns and pandemic restrictions, but there were also significant increases in the use and production rates of our existing digital machines.
‘‘We Have Advanced Our Rapid Production Bar One Step Further with Mini Lario Installations’’
What kind of changes do you think will happen in the digital printing machinery industry in the post-pandemic period? What kind of preparations are you planning for the post-pandemic period as MS Printing?
Serious changes occurred in the equipment and business models needed during the pandemic period. Digital printing has become one of the prominent production methods due to the increase in sensitivity such as the availability of stocks and online sales in the retail chain. During the pandemic period, some of our customers preferred us solely for the short delivery time that we could provide.
In the ongoing period, we have observed that production capacity increase in the digital printing machinery sector has become one of the most important issues. Our Single-pass Lario digital printing machine, which offers us the leading position in the market, is also an appropriate product for this need. However, in order to meet different needs, our Mini Lario model with 64 heads, which has the capability to print 1000 meters per hour, has also joined our product range. Additionally, we have mini-Lario installations in the Turkish market. Through these installations, we raised our rapid production bar one step further.
Both software and dye issues are among the important arguments in terms of a stable and fast operation. Thanks to the Dover Digital Platform, where we combine all of our printing technologies under a single roof, we are constantly developing our machinery and software in line with the rapidly changing update needs. We complete our dye side, which is an important part of us, with Kiian digital within our company body. We are able to provide a wide range of products in this regard, with our reactive, disperse, pigment, and sublimation dye solutions.
The need to be fast and accurate in production and delivery issues is increasing all over the world. As MS, we continue our work on machinery, dye, and software continuously, and at the same time, increase our support to our customers.
Sustainability throughout the supply chain has become a necessity today. How environmentally friendly are your products in your range?
Digital printing is the most effective solution for increasing environmental sensitivity. Compared with rotary printing, our digital printing machines already provide great benefits through their low water consumption, low energy consumption, less dye waste, and low waste rate. In addition, we continue to increase our work on the dye side. Our pigment dye technology has also progressed significantly. Moreover, we have digital printing machine installations utilizing Kiian pigment dye in Turkey. As MS, we carefully follow the demands all over the world, fulfill the determined environmental standards, and advance determinedly in this direction.
Could you please tell us about your worldwide sales and support network, and the countries you export to? What are your growth plans? Can you please talk about the importance of the Turkish market for your company?
As Dover, we actively operate in all of Europe, taking Italy as the center base and in the Middle East and Turkic Republics, taking Turkey as the center. In addition, as Dover Holding, our headquarters is in the USA. We continue our activities in China and Far East countries through Dover China. Apart from these, we are going through a restructuring phase in Pakistan, which a rising market. In addition, when we look generally, we serve as a representative and as official offices in many countries of the world. We support digital printing technologies under the same roof as Dover Digital Platform, which is within Dover Holding that consists of MS Printing Solutions, Caldera, and JK Group companies. We consider the Turkish market as one of the world’s most important markets. Accordingly, we will continue to invest in Turkey both by expanding our after-sales service area and by advancing the stock in dyes that we recently started doing business in
The effects of the pandemic seem to continue in the first months of 2021. What are your expectations from 2021 as MS Printing? Do you have new product and investment plans?
Although we feel the negative effects of 2020, we started 2021 full of hope and acceleration in business. We consider that especially our large-scale machines will be important for us this year. We have some estimates for the sales of our Lario and Mini Lario machines. At the same time, we continue to attach importance to innovations and development. Because, the digital printing is an industry that always includes innovations. As a company, we will have many innovations in terms of technology this year and we keep them as a surprise for now.
