Biancalani President Rossano Biancalani
The Italian company Biancalani has been operating in the field of fabric finishing and preparation since 1957. Biancalani exports textile machinery to a variety of countries around the world, including major textile producing countries such as Turkey, India, Pakistan, and Far East. Biancalani, which increased its orders in 2022 despite the political and economic conditions, shortage of raw materials and cost increases, is preparing to both launch new products and sign big investment projects in 2023.
“We are Determined to Offer Innovative Products to Our Customers”
We interviewed Rossano Biancalani, President and CEO of Biancalani, for the special issue of “Italy Textile Machinery Industry” of our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine. Biancalani said that his company has steadily increased its presence in international markets over the years and has become a leader position in many textile areas. Biancalani said; “Key factors contributing to this growth include an increase in global demand for textile products, advancements in technology and automation, and a growing need for efficient machinery solutions. We are committed to staying at the forefront of these trends by investing in research and development, and by providing our customers with innovative and high-quality machinery products.”
Stating that his company has a strong presence in Europe and America apart from Turkey, India, Pakistan and the Far East Biancalani used this phrase: “Our domestic market in Italy is also a significant source of business for us, as Italy has a long-standing tradition of excellence in textile production. We are proud to be able to support and contribute to the growth of the textile industry in Italy and around the world.”
“Increased Our Sales and Production Volume in 2022”
Emphasizing that 2022 showed a significant recovery after the pandemic, which reduced general demand, caused some markets to shift to other countries and restricted travel, Biancalani said: “Anyway, in spite of the persisting global political and economic conditions, and increase in cost and availability of raw materials and electronic components supply, the results have been very good, with an increase in orders and production volume.”
Expressing that the textile machinery industry will likely face a number of chanllenges in the coming years, like many other industries, Rossano Biancalani continued his words as follows: “Some potential challenges that the industry may face include economic and political uncertainty, environmental and sustainability concerns, advancing technology, and increasing competition. The key, for every company, will be to put on the table new ideas and to have the determination to pursue the development of new technologies which will transform these ideas into tangible solutions.”
Saying that there will be a series of innovations in the finishing machinery sector in the near future, Biancalani listed them as follows:
Automation and digitalization: finishing machinery is expected to become more efficient and cost-effective through the integration of advanced technologies such as, for instance, artificial intelligence.
Sustainability: there will be an increased focus on sustainability, with more developments towards energy saving and reduction of waste and environmental impact.
Customization: as customer demand for personalized products increases, flexibility and adaptability of textile machinery will become more and more relevant for the market.
Smart machinery and Industry 4.0: advancements in Industry 4.0 technologies such as big data, cloud computing, and advanced analytics are expected to enable the development of smart machinery that can optimize production processes and improve the overall performance of textile machinery.
Integrated finishing solutions: besides high-throughput lines where each machine is dedicated to specific functions for a streamlined and efficient production, we expect that also the demand for integrated solutions will increase, where having a range of finishing processes in a single machine will allow to cope with the dynamically changing requirements of the end customers.
“Our Investments in R&D Keep Us Competitive”
Reminding that research and development has always been a very important component for Biancalani, Biancalani President Rossano Biancalani concluded his words as follows: “Our investments in R&D are what allowed us to stay competitive and become market leader in many important areas. Besides the important innovations which will be displayed at the ITMA 2023 in Milan, we have big investment projects and are already working in order to bring to the market new products and services, which will provide a new wealth of sustainable and competitive solutions for tomorrow’s challenges.”
