CEIA to Launch A New Bar Metal Detector Which Has Higher Working Speed
CEIA is an Industrial Company, founded in 1968, focused on the design and manufacturing of Electromagnetic lnspection Systems where R&D, Engineering and Production activities are performed in-house, entirely (Arezzo – Italy). CEIA provides a worldwide assistance network as well as training programs for certification in the use and maintenance of its equipment. CEIA Digital Metal Detectors are the ideal means of protection for production lines against accidental damage caused by fragments of metal, which can enter the manufacturing process along with the material or into finished product.

Over 50 years of experience in research and production of Metal Detectors, 56 patents originating from research developed and implemented in the electromagnetic field, more than 500,000 Metal Detectors deployed worldwide.
We interviewed with CEIA Company Metal Detector Industry Manager Marco Cocci for our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine. Cocci explained the evaluation of 2021 and the expectations and targets for 2022.
Could you tell us about your product portfolio and usage areas? Which products of yours are the most demanded especially in textile sector?
Main areas of activity are:
- Security Detection;
- Industrial Detection including Textile and Pharmaceutical divisions;
- Ground Search Detection;
- Induction Heating.
CEIA has a wide range of products to cover all Textile Detection activities, from raw material to finished products like garments, passing through recycled and weaving departments, too.
One of the most appreciated and requested Metal Detectors for the Textile market is our Bar Metal Detector “TE”.
TE device belongs to the family of micro-sensitive bar Metal Detectors, whose high quality and reliability are globally recognized by the leading world manufacturers of industrial machineries. The TE Metal Detector signals the presence of magnetic and non-magnetic metal masses, including stainless steel particles like AISI 316, both on the exterior and in the interior of the product, and stops or alarms the machine. Sensitivity can be adjusted digitally, depending on the size of the metal fragments which shall be intercepted and by revealing the passage of several consecutive contaminants through a special detection memory function. An unbreakable detection surface due to Stainless Steel Bars protection and highest immunity and protection against electrostatic discharges, are two of the most important features of our new Bar Metal Detector device.
Can you talk about the major functional improvements you recently made to metal detector? How this will benefit the textile industry?
The goal and philosophy of CEIA, a leading manufacturer of Electromagnetic lnspection Systems, is to support Textile industry in the profitable production of safe products and to eliminate waste in the process. Producers have the need for precise technologies to meet the highlly demanding Textile standard bylaws.
According to customer requests’, we are working to improve the immunity against electrical and mechanical disturbs, reducing the Metal Free Zone Area that is needed to install our Metal Detectors, still the smallest one within the Textile Market. Zero product waste due to false alarms is the goal of our mission.
Which are the key factors that differentiates CEIA from its competitors?

Which countries are you exporting to? Is the domestic market of Italy also consuming your products?
CEIA is a Worldwide exporter of its products. Due to a very important and high quality level of textile machines made in Italy, we achieve around 15% of our textile turnover for domestic market, yearly.
How was 2021 for CEIA ? Especially after the first quarter of the year, there was an increase in orders. Can you evaluate the year 2021 in figures?
Despite an awkward strange and sometimes critical period around us, Ceia has managed to achieve brilliant results in 2021, too. Due to active cooperation with Far East countries where non-woven production is rocketed, Ceia has continuosly improved the business with an extremely satisfactory final turnover.
Can you tell us about your expectations, goals, new products and investment plans for 2022?
We are focused in new digital and high performances Metal Detector models. We are planning to introduce a new Bar Metal Detector for Textile, Non-Woven, paper and plastic applications, with higher working speed and detection performances. In addition to the productivity requirements, the high expectations of consumers and retailers is to have products not only safer, but with higher quality as well.
