Power-Heat-Set Sales Director Marcus Fink emphasizes that Türkiye’s strong position in world carpet production is of strategic importance to the company. Fink states that despite global economic challenges, long-term collaborations with Turkish manufacturers continue, and they have further strengthened their market position with energy-efficient heat setting technologies and a redesigned Steamatic unit.
In our interview with Power-Heat-Set Sales Director Marcus Fink, we discussed the company’s 2025 performance, technological strengths, and future vision. Fink notes that they have delivered a solid performance even in a year where investment decisions are proceeding cautiously on a global scale, and he particularly highlights the critical role of the Turkish market in the company’s strategy. He states that in Türkiye, one of the world’s leading carpet production centers, they offer energy-efficient and process-stability solutions that meet high quality expectations, and emphasizes that long-term collaborations with Turkish manufacturers are crucial in Power-Heat-Set’s sustainable growth strategy.
“2025 Was A Strategically Important Year For The Power Heat Set”
How did 2025 perform for Power-Heat-Set? How would you evaluate your overall performance in global markets, and which key developments stood out during the year?
2025 was a strategically important year for Power-Heat-Set, shaped by a challenging global economic environment. Worldwide economic difficulties, geopolitical tensions, and cautious investment behavior significantly influenced our industry.
We clearly experienced reduced decision-making momentum among customers. Due to on going economic uncertainty, many investment projects were postponed or evaluated far more carefully than in previous years and lead times for decisions increased. Despite these global challenges, we were able to maintain a solid overall performance.
Our focus in 2025 was the improvement and marketing of our redesigned Steamatic, an in line steaming unit to meet the needs of the textile industry and thus appeal to a completely new customer group in addition to the carpet industry.
Other important developments include improvements in efficiency, process stability and sus tainability. We consistently pursue these goals through technical innovation, which enables us to maintain our position as a leading specialist supplier of advanced thermal fixing sys tems. Overall, we evaluate 2025 as a challenging yet strategically valuable year that has laid important groundwork for sustainable future growth.
With decades of expertise in heatsetting technologies, what are the core technological and engineering strengths that differentiate Power-Heat-Set from its competitors?
At Power-Heat-Set, the core technology has always been heatsetting – and this consistent specialization is precisely what sets the company apart. For decades, Power-Heat-Set ma chines have been operating reliably in production facilities around the world, so these ma chines stand for high quality and are tailored to the needs of our customers. The longevity and durability are not coincidental; they are the result of deep process knowledge, solid me chanical engineering, and continuous refinement over many years.
A defining strength of the company lies in its accumulated experience. Having focused exclu sively on heatsetting technology for carpet yarn over decades, Power-Heat-Set has devel oped an in-depth understanding of thermal processes, yarn behavior, and long-term produc tion stability.
A central pillar of this strength is the company’s own research and development department. The in-house R&D team continuously works on optimizing existing systems and adapting them to new technical and market requirements.
A significant recent milestone is the redesign of the Steamatic, a fully automatic inline steam ing unit. With this redevelopment, Power-Heat-Set is expanding beyond its traditional focus on the carpet yarn industry and is now addressing broader segments of the textile industry. This strategic expansion opens access to an entirely new market segment while building on the company’s core expertise in heatsetting technology.
What advantages do the GVA and HiPerSet machine series offer to yarn and carpet manufacturers in terms of quality, productivity, and process stability?
The GVA and HiPerSet combine decades of heatsetting expertise with continuous in-house engineering development. Both machines are designed to deliver consistently high yarn qual ity, maximum process stability, and long-term operational reliability under demanding pro duction conditions.
Both machines stand for robust technology and highly uniform heatsetting results. Features such as precise climate control inside the chamber—including advanced dew point monitor ing—ensure a stable treatment atmosphere and reproducible yarn characteristics. This re sults in excellent-quality yarn that can easily be used as required.
Furthermore, clients benefit from high output rates, reduced downtime, and sustainable pro duction performance.
In a period marked by rising energy costs and increasing sustainability requirements, what technological solutions is Power-Heat-Set developing to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact?
At Power-Heat-Set, sustainability is addressed primarily through engineering. Our continuous objective is to design machines that operate as resource-efficiently as possible, with a partic ular focus on reducing electricity and water consumption.
Energy efficiency is improved through optimized thermal management, precise process con trol, and intelligent software that ensures stable operating conditions. Over the last years, we have succeeded in reducing energy consumption by up to 80 percent which is primarily due to the great work of the development department.
At the same time, water usage is minimized through carefully engineered process layouts and controlled steam application.
An additional sustainability benefit lies directly within the heatsetting process itself. The technology is designed to wash out potentially harmful substances more effectively at an early stage, before further processing steps take place. As a result, customers benefit from cleaner yarns and improved environmental performance throughout the downstream pro duction chain.
Rather than treating sustainability as an isolated feature, we integrate resource efficiency and environmental responsibility into the core design of every new generation of machines.
How do R&D activities fit into your overall corporate strategy? Could you share insights into recent innovations or upcoming technologies that you plan to introduce to the market?
Research and development are a central pillar of the corporate strategy at Power-Heat-Set. All core technologies are developed in-house by our own R&D department, which allows us to react quickly and flexibly to individual customer requirements. This independence not only ensures a high level of technical expertise but also enables us to implement customized solu tions and continuous improvements.
Beyond the ongoing optimization of our established GVA and HiPerSet, the most significant recent innovation is the redesigned Steamatic. This inline steaming machine has expanded our portfolio into the worsted yarn industry. It can be integrated flexibly directly into the pro duction line and therefore increases efficiency, improves process consistency, and simplifies the overall workflow. With this development, we are not only broadening our market reach but also use our know-how for new market-segments.
Looking ahead to the next few years, and especially to ITMA 2027, we are very confident that we will come up with new innovations and convince our customers with future-oriented PHS technologies.

How do you assess the strategic importance of the Turkish market for Power-Heat-Set? Do you offer tailor-made solutions in line with the specific needs and expectations of manufacturers in Türkiye?
Türkiye is one of the most important carpet production hubs worldwide and therefore a stra tegically significant market for Power-Heat-Set. The country has a strong export-oriented in dustry with high quality standards and a dynamic manufacturing structure, making it a key region for advanced heatsetting technologies.
Over the years, we have built close and long-standing relationships with Turkish manufactur ers. Our machines are well established in the market and are recognized for their reliability, consistent yarn quality, and efficient performance. The feedback we receive confirms that customers value the stability and durability of our systems in demanding production environ ments.
While the core technological requirements in Türkiye are similar to those in other leading car pet-producing countries, we always remain flexible in adapting configurations to individual production setups and capacity needs.
