“ITM, An International Exhibition That Meets Our Expectations”

Monforts presented the Montex Stenter unit to the visitors at the ITM 2022 Exhibition. “We will be emphasising the robustness and versatility of the Montex stenter for essential processes such as drying, stretching, heatsetting and coating at the Istanbul show,” said Monforts Area Sales Manager Thomas Päffgen. “The Montex has become the industry standard for the fabric finishing industry, providing a number of advantages in terms of production throughput and especially in energy efficiency and savings.”
Thomas Paffgen, with whom we interviewed for our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine, made evaluations about the ITM 2022 and the textile industry.
Can we get your opinions on what the ITM 2022, which was held after a 3-year hiatus due to the pandemic, brought to the industry?
First of all, I am pleased to be here and to present our newly developed technologies to our valued customers. It is very important to meet in person and to be able to see and talk to each other, as communication only by video conference is not sufficient. We have many visitors from Turkey and abroad. ITM 2022 is an important international exhibition that meets our market expectations.
How was the ITM 2022 for you? Did it meet your expectations?
We exhibited our latest technology units at the exhibition. Our focus was to optimize customer efficiency and savings in energy consumption with environmentally friendly units that use minimum energy and minimum resources.
What are your evaluations about the Turkish textile industry and the Turkish market?
The Turkish market is a very important, rapidly changing, and adaptable market. This means that Turkish companies and Turkish customers make decisions very quickly. When they need a machine, they prefer state-of-the-art technology. This is the reason I appreciate the Turkish market.
What are the features that distinguish the products you exhibit at the exhibition from your competitors and what will be the advantages they will provide to the users?
With the development of coating technology in the near future, the coating will become more important. Thanks to this process, you can reduce the amount of chemicals in the water used and give the textile a higher quality. This means that in the future, coating technology will become even more essential and common in the Turkish market.
Decline in the Production Costs
Neotek Tekstil General Manager Ahmet Kılıç stated that ITM 2022 is an important opportunity for the participants to see the level each other has reached. Kılıç continued, “We are happy to offer customers the opportunity to save money, especially due to the increased energy costs in recent years,” and underlined that Neotek prioritizes energy saving and automation in its products. Indicating that they had the opportunity to introduce their customers to the latest level of technology in stenter, compacting, and pre-painted dyeing machines at the exhibition, Kılıç pointed out that production and sales opportunities increased as costs became cheaper with the new technology.
