“We are Happy to Have Made a Comeback with the ITM 2022 Exhibition”
The important role played by Turkey in the international textile and clothing industry has made the country one of the world’s leading market for textile machinery. One of the companies participating in ITM 2022, which was held after a long break, was Itema, one of the leading manufacturers of weaving machines.

The Itema Group companies Lamiflex and Schoch presented at ITM in Itema booth with their advanced weaving accessories offering. The Lamiflex branded portfolio of rapier tapes and sprocket wheels and the Schoch wide range of weaving reeds for airjet and rapier weaving machines and drop-wires on display.
Stating that their meetings with their customers are very important, Ugo Ghilardi, CEO of Itema said that they are very hopeful about the ITM 2022 Exhibition. Ghilardi said, “Itema means endurance, mastery of textiles, progress. As a company, we are focused on sustainability and this area is among our priorities. We are working hard for this, improving ourselves. Currently, mastery in textiles is our focus. We know that many of our customers from Turkey are interested in our products.”
Emphasizing that Turkey’s performance in the textile sector is very good despite the difficult conditions created by the pandemic, Ghilardi said that Itema’s technical competence in weaving is quite good and that they have given a significant part of their energy to the Turkish market. Ghilardi said: “The pandemic has changed our lives and changed our company with it. We couldn’t get together with customers and suppliers. Considering this, we have also kept up with the changes. With all this, we have taken care to move forward with innovations.’’
As in many fields, the issue of sustainability is very important in the textile sector. Companies have been focusing on this issue and making efforts in their recent works. Ghilardi said, “For the future, we, as Itema, pay special attention to sustainability. We are making very good progress in this area. We always keep this issue as our priority.”
