Kipaş Will Weave 120 Thousand Square Meters of Fabric in Its New Facility
Minister Varank, who toured the weaving plant with the protocol members and journalists, received information about the business from M. Hanefi Öksüz, Chairman of the Board of Kipaş Holding. M. Hanefi Öksüz expressed the following statement regarding the new facility: ‘‘Kipaş has made great efforts for the industrialization of our country in the last 20 years. The facility we opened today is a very important weaving plant. We are happy to bring such an enterprise to our city and our country. 120,000 meters of fabric will be produced daily in our facility. Textile is one of the important sectors of our Group. We have a turnover of over half a million dollars in this field. All of our machines are state-of-the-art. We started a new restructuring. Therefore, it is important that the machines are state-of-the-art, but more importantly, the safety of our personnel working here. Since our company is thirty-eight years old, we are renovating all of our old buildings in accordance with the newer regulations.’’
Öksüz also stated that they produce fabrics for the defense industry, and continued as follows, ‘‘If our last production passes the security investigation, conducted by the Ministry of Defense, we will start production. These bulletproof fabrics can transmit the information about the soldier’s injury and the coordinates to the headquarters via the communication system when the soldier is injured.’’
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony with the members of the protocol, Varank told reporters that Kipaş made a great contribution to reducing Turkey’s current account deficit. Stating that the holding is the largest in Turkey in the textile and weaving sector, Varank continued as follows: ‘‘In this enterprise, 120 thousand square meters of fabric will be woven per day. This is a really significant figure. This is a company that has a considerable export volume and makes a great contribution to reducing Turkey’s current account deficit. And of course, offers great employment opportunities in Kahramanmaraş. Thanks to this facility, our working brothers here can bring bread to their homes.’’
