In order to discover Loepfe’s vision and future plans more closely, we share with you the interview we conducted with Erol Karakaş, Manager Loepfe Turkiye.

Loepfe plays an important role in the development of the Swiss textile industry. What can you say about the contributions your company has made to this sector?

Since its establishment in 1955, Loepfe has been the pacesetter for innovation in textile quality control. We are celebrating 70th year of establishment in 2025. Loepfe has redefined the landscape in textile manufacturing through cutting-edge sensor technologies and innovations by bringing solutions of online yarn quality control. Loepfe’s sensors are designed to deliver unparalleled accuracy in detecting even the slightest imperfections in yarns before they are processed into a fabric with best customer support. Loepfe was the Pioneer of online quality control systems, bringing solutions of hairiness variations of compact yarns, cleaining foreign matters for top quality yarns used for top quality fabrics.

Systems like YarnMaster and MillMaster are enhancing quality control in textile production. Could you elaborate on the benefits these technologies bring to the industry?

YarnMaster comes with trust to end quality for customer with different needs. We are offering customers tailored solutions according to their needs with YarnMaster product family.

YarnMaster® Prisma is the first and only yarn clearer in the market offering simultanious optical precision and mass detection together. Its unique RGB technology is the way to reach best foreign fiber cleaning with drastically reduced number of cuts. Unique P sensor for detecting synthetic contaminations for wide yarn count range is another important advantage. This brings customer to be able to provide top quality compact fabrics, top quality denim fabrics and even top quality carded yarns with minimum yarn waste.

YarnMster® Zenit+ is our solution with precise optical detection of regular yarn defects, yarn hairiness detection, precise detection of foreign fibers and P faults too. Shade detection of yarn is another possibilty we can offer to our customers as in YarnMaster® Prisma.

YarnMaster® EOS is brining precise quality detection and yarn cleairing for open end yarns with expertise of decades too.

How do you address challenges such as sustainability and quality control in the textile sector? What solutions does Loepfe offer in these areas?

Sustainability is one of the biggest challenge today for all industries including textiles. We beleive we have to take care of our world, so we focus on sustainability on different levels. Increasing prices of raw materials and shipping costs are an importatn side of the story. Effective use of raw materials and long life time of our products also do have an important effect.

We beleive in Loepfe sustainability is not against quality for our customer. Most important factor for our customers is yarn waste caused by yarn quality cuts. Thanks to unique organic filter we offer with YarnMaster® Prisma, it is possible to reduce contamination cuts related to organic matter up to 90% with no risk of quality. We offer them various setting possibities to reduce yarn waste during quality manufacturing. Various alarm limits and early alarming functions help customer to seperate low quality bobbins from winding process. Dual measurement also reduces quality cuts by using correct measurement methods for different yarn faults.

Our MillMaster® TOP helps customer to see all quality varioations 24/7 overall and Support them to make preventive maintenance.

What is Loepfe’s position in the global market? What can you tell us about markets outside Switzerland, and do you have a strategy for emerging markets?

Loepfe products are used 99% in global market in various countries around the globe. We are supporting emmerging markets by know how transfer and giving Support before and after Sales to help customers to decide for correct solutions and use them in best way possible. We see our customers as our partners which is the key of success for both sides.

As Loepfe, how do you plan to contribute to the major transformations in the textile sector, such as digitalization and sustainability?

Digitalization for yarn clearers have been started by Loepfe decades ago by promoting online data collection system we provided to our customers. We are focusing on online quality control of yarns which provides customer to test 100% of their production and do preventive maintenance for quality with productivity even when they are not in the mill.

Turkiye is an important market in the textile sector. Can you provide information about Loepfe’s activities in the Turkish market? What solutions do you offer to customers in Turkiye, and what are your future goals for this market?

Turkiye is known already for good quality and fast servicing of high quality yarns and garments. Loepfe has a strong team of Sales and servicing to our customers on time.

We are one click away from our customers. We are with our customers to Support them to select correct yarn clearer type with our agent Inta Makina Kimya. Service center for repairs of Inta Makina is located in Gaziantep, any defective unit can be repaired on time.

Our Loepfe Turkiye team is also located in Gaziantep to provide customers on site Support such as trainings, startups, servicing and troubleshooting yarn quality issues and technical issues.

Our future goal is to increase customer satisfaction in Turkiye even more than today.

Global competition in the textile machinery sector is increasing. What will be the biggest innovation that will differentiate Loepfe from its competitors in 2025?

There are more players in textile machinery sector every day. Yarn clearing is a very challenging business which doesn’t give a chance of any fail. Our first aim will be keeping precise measurement of our systems to  Support customers yarn quality without compromise.

Dual measurement and RGB detections are one the most important innovations in yarn quality control. We will be further expanding the abilities of YarnMaster® Prisma in combination with our online data management system MillMaster® TOP for better outcome for our customers.
