‘R&D Centre Service Honour Award’ to Effe for Environmentally Friendly Production
EFFE Makine Endüstri Tic. A.Ş. General Manager and Board Member İhsan Mokanoğlu; “We have already started our preparations for the ITM 2024 to be held in June. We will continue to present our high value-added machines to the textile industry by proving again at this exhibition that we are one of the strong suppliers of our own geography.”
Effe, which operates in the field of dyeing and finishing with a wide range of products from stenter to drying, from sanforising to printing and steaming machine, continues its new investments and environmentally friendly machinery production without slowing down. Effe’s environmentally friendly products include NIP Padder that reduce chemical consumption, Pre-Wash Unit that makes significant contributions to reducing water and air pollution, Electrostatic Chimney Filters that clean 98% of harmful exhaust wastes and Economiser units that ensure that used air can be reused before it is released into the nature through exhaust.
Effe, which focuses on making machines that reduce energy costs and enable environmentally friendly production with the work of its R&D centre, was deemed worthy of the award with this success. Çorlu Chamber of Commerce, in the 65th anniversary of its establishment, awarded the companies that export the most, pay the most taxes, have R&D centres and make environmentally friendly production with an award ceremony. Effe also received the ‘R&D Centre Service Honour Award’.
EFFE Makine Endüstri Tic. A.Ş. General Manager and Board Member İhsan Mokanoğlu made special evaluations to Tekstil Teknoloji magazine for the special issue of ‘Turkish Textile Machinery Industry’. Explaining the secrets behind Effe’s success and giving information about the environmentally friendly machines produced in recent years, Mokanoğlu said, “We have high expectations for 2024.” The highlights of Mokanoğlu’s statements are as follows:
“The Secret of Our Success is that All Our Employees Focus on a Common Goal”
The success of our company is based on the fact that all our employees focus on a common goal. In addition, as a company; we aim for higher quality instead of low cost, we focus on revenue generation instead of operating costs. The managerial staff of our company consists of people who have worked in different disciplines of the textile industry for many years, have analysed the value added by various textile machines to the enterprises, and as a result, have accepted to offer high value-added technological infrastructure machines to the sector representatives as an expression of corporate culture.
“You Need to Know Sustainable Production Possibilities for Competitiveness”
Analysing the challenges of being a textile machinery manufacturer in Turkey is very important in terms of determining the short and long term plans of the company. Textile machinery manufacturers in Turkey compete with domestic and foreign brands for the world textile industry. In order to plan and manage these challenging processes, you need to have differences that will make you stand out in the machines you produce, know the domestic and foreign market dynamics well and prepare sustainable production opportunities.
As Effe brand, we successfully planned all these processes and continued our activities in three different production centres from 2008 to 2022. In the last quarter of 2022, we completed the preparations for our new production facilities in Çorlu and moved from Istanbul to our factory in Çorlu.
“Low Energy Cost and Environmentally Friendly Production is Our Focal Point”
Since the day we were founded, we have been producing machines that are competitive, optimum and offer high added value to our customers. Low energy costs and environmentally friendly production, which are the biggest targets of the textile industry, are among the issues that Effe brand emphasises the most. Our R&D centre directs its studies on this subject.
Some of the machines and units we have brought to the sector as a result of these studies are as follows: Thanks to the NIP padders that will reduce chemical consumption, we are going beyond the traditional methods. In this way, chemical consumption in finishing padders is significantly reduced and less chemicals are released for the environment. The pre-washing unit, which has also become a standard unit of the stenter machines, makes a significant contribution to water and air pollution by cleaning and filtering paraffin, polyester-derived oils, natural cotton oils and knitting machine-derived oils on the fabric. Thanks to the Stenter Machine chimney filters, which is a very important unit; Electrostatic Chimney filters, which clean 98% of the harmful exhaust wastes that occur during the fixing process of the machines and cause air pollution, have been successfully used in the textile industry.
“We Prefer IE4 Energy Efficient Engines in Our Stenter Machines”
The preference of engines with the highest level of energy efficiency in all machines in the product range of Effe brand has become a part of the corporate culture of the company. Since 2017, all motors with high electricity consumption, especially in the stenter machine, have been preferred as IE4 energy efficient motors. With this choice, Effe is proud to be the first brand in Turkey and in the world to do so. Our other high value-added unit is the Economiser units that enable the heated and used air in both natural gas and hot oil heating system machines to be reused before it is released to the nature with exhaust.
We will continue to design and manufacture domestic machines that offer recyclable energy gains, provide environmentally friendly production opportunities and compete with the world in order to meet the expectations of the textile industry, which aims to leave a cleaner world to future generations, in this period when energy costs drag the entire industry into difficult times.
“Our Expectation from 2024 is High”
After the 3rd quarter of 2023, it is not possible to predict what kind of a scenario the difficult days experienced with the decline of capacities to 40-60% in both Turkey and many textile countries will turn into in 2024. The increase in the exchange rate, minimum wage hike, fuel, energy and other general expense increases put both textile and machinery exporters at a disadvantage. Despite all the negativities, we are making our plans for 2024, we will try to maintain our brand awareness with more advertising, promotion and fair organisations in the crisis environment.
