Staubli is Launched New Drawing in Machine Safir Pro S67 at ITM 2024
ITM 2024 exhibition that brings together the Asian and European textile industry, we interviewed Fritz Legler, Head of Global Marketing, Sales and Service, WPS Textile Marketing Officer, Staubli Textile, the pioneering leader in weaving technology.
Can you briefly tell us about the products at ITM 2024?
The product that we are introducing as the main novelty during ITM is our latest generation high-speed automatic drawing-in machine Safir Pro S67, which we sold to one of our leading customers in Turkey, Lutuf Mensucat. This machine was launched yesterday and obviously we are very proud to be in Turkey for the launch of this new technology. Our new automation technology has attracted a lot of interest.
What are the benefits of the products offered to the users?
These machines offer even more benefits in terms of higher quality, higher productivity and quick response to the market. We also have vision technology, what we call active job control, which gives customers the ability to perceive colors. And these days, more flexibility is required to actually detect color yarn differences to make sure that there are no double ends, we can maintain the quality, we don’t have faulty warps going into the weaving and then clearly increase the weaving efficiency of the weaving machines.
What are your predictions for the future of the textile industry and how are your company preparing for the future?
I think everyone knows that we are going through a bit of a difficult time right now. Our customers are suffering with us. There are so many distortions globally. There are geopolitical situations, there is inflation, consumption is down. Our retailers’ stores are still full. So the confidence that our customers or we, the consumers, will spend a lot of money on clothing has not come back yet. So I think we have to be patient for a while longer for things to recover on a more sustainable level. So I think the next few months will be difficult for fabric manufacturers as well as for weaving machines or textile machinery manufacturers.
How is ITM 2024 going for you? Does ITM 2024 meet your expectations?
We have more quality visitors who want to get the latest information about our drawing-in machines, tying machines, dobbies, jacquard machines and carpet weaving machines. So we really need a lot of traffic flow of good and quality meetings.
What would you say about the position of the Turkish textile industry in the world?
Turkey has always had a very strong position when it comes to fabric production. Competitiveness has been lost maybe to some extent. There is high inflation, costs are increasing, there is competition from neighboring countries. But still Turkey has always been very innovative, very agile and Turkey has always found a way to stay competitive and have a strong market position.
