With the “Gate of Business: Textile” organization held in Moscow to strengthen the presence of the Turkish fabric industry in the Russian market, 33 companies held more than 1000 business meetings with Russian importers with the support of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey.
Efforts to increase the effectiveness of the Turkish knitted and woven fabric industry in international markets continue. With the support of the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey and the organization of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), the trade delegation named “Gate of Business: Textile” held in Moscow on September 18-19, 2024 stood out as an important step in strengthening the commercial relations between Turkey and Russia.
TARGET IN MOSCOW: MORE THAN 1000 BILATERAL BUSINESS MEETINGS
Within the scope of the organization, 33 distinguished fabric companies from Turkey held more than 1000 bilateral business meetings with Russia’s leading importers. This important event is expected to consolidate the strong positions of Turkish companies in the Russian market and increase their export figures. At the “Gate of Business: Textile” organization, which was also held in Moscow in April 2024, 27 Turkish companies held 786 business meetings with 137 Russian importers, strengthening commercial ties in the sector. This success led Turkish companies to regularly request business meetings in the Russian market.
Russia stands out as a country that imports 2.1 billion dollars of fabric annually worldwide. However, due to the embargoes imposed due to the Ukraine War, there is an 11 percent contraction in the import volume. On the other hand, Turkey’s fabric exports have decreased by 5 percent in the last year, revealing the need for our companies to strengthen their presence in this market.
TURKISH FABRIC INDUSTRY PREPARES TO ESTABLISH STRATEGIC CONNECTIONS IN MOSCOW
This trade delegation, which is organized with the aim of both maintaining the presence and growth of the Turkish knitted and woven fabric industry in the Russian market, will contribute to the development of commercial relations between the two countries. Turkish companies aim to establish strong business connections in a strategic market with the organization held in Moscow.
