“Türkiye is a Strategic and Regional Hub for Saurer”
Operating globally in staple fibre spinning and twisting machinery, Saurer presented its carding, rotor spinning and ring spinning technologies at ITM 2026 together with automation, digitalisation and component solutions. Despite a slower market environment, the company emphasises that Türkiye remains strategically important and that interest in automated rotor spinning and recycling-oriented solutions continues to be strong.
At the exhibition, Saurer highlighted its latest solutions for staple fibre processing and yarn production. The technologies presented at the booth included the company’s latest carding machine, the Autocard SC8, as well as the Autocoro 11 Duo Sliver Feeding concept, which allows two different slivers to be mixed in one batch. This dual sliver feeding approach stands out as a future-oriented solution that will enable different slivers to be blended flexibly within a single production lot. Ring spinning machinery, automation and digitalisation systems, and Texparts components were also among the key technologies introduced by Saurer at the fair.
Pia Terasa, Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Saurer, said ITM has always been an important exhibition for the company and underlined that Türkiye remains a strong and strategic market for Saurer. Terasa noted that the market in 2026 is slower and more cautious than in previous periods; nevertheless, the company met highly qualified visitors, held productive customer meetings and, considering the market situation, evaluated the exhibition as very successful.
“ITM 2026 Brings Together Regional Textile Markets”
Terasa said ITM 2026 is not an exhibition that addresses Türkiye alone, but also serves as a strong meeting point for regional textile markets. In addition to a large number of visitors from Türkiye, Saurer met customers from neighbouring countries such as Uzbekistan, Iran, Syria and Egypt during the fair. The Istanbul event gives Saurer the opportunity both to strengthen contact with existing customers and to build new business connections.
Automated Rotor Spinning and Recycling Come to the Fore
According to Saurer, global textile investments are still at a low level, yet automated rotor spinning and recycling applications continue to gain importance among customers. Terasa said interest remains strong particularly in highly automated rotor spinning machines and solutions capable of processing recycled fibres, adding that Saurer expects this trend to continue in the coming period.
Terasa stated that Autocoro remains one of the most preferred automatic rotor spinning machines in Türkiye and that this position is being maintained under current market conditions. She added that a few more months will be needed to see the pace of global recovery, while Saurer will continue to support customers in Türkiye and surrounding markets with solutions focused on efficiency, flexibility, automation and sustainable production.
