“We Introduced Our Environmentally and Eco-Friendly Threads for the First Time at IGM 2022”
Founded in 1919 as Burkhardt & Schmidt Spinning Mill in Freiburg, Germany, the company quickly made a name for itself in the industry as a high-quality embroidery thread manufacturer. Renamed Madeira in 1975, the company has been producing high-quality embroidery threads made of 100% viscose for the worldwide commercial embroidery industry for many years. Marketing Specialist Seda Gedikoğlu Kızılkaya stated that IGM 2022, which was held after a four-year break due to the pandemic, revitalized the sector.
Noting that both manufacturers and customers missed the exhibitions, Kızılkaya said, “We hope that with the contribution of IGM 2022, the Turkish textile industry will revive even more in the coming period. We shared our excitement with all our customers during the exhibition.”
Stating that attending IGM, which has been held at the same address for 27 years, is a prestige indicator for companies, Kızıkaya; “Madeira’s primary expectation from IGM 2022 was to increase recognition and reunite with existing customers. Of course, our priority was to make sales and sign new collaborations like all the participants.” said.
Madeira was highlighting the environmentally and eco-friendly threads they launched this year at the exhibition. The products, launched under the names Madeira Green and Sensa Green, are made entirely from recycled materials such as transparent plastic bottles and user waste materials. Another product that the company introduced to its customers is Sensa Green, also made from sustainable materials.
Seda Gedikoğlu Kızılkaya underlines that Sensa Green, which is a very soft product with high user satisfaction, may overtake polyester threads in the next year or two. Saying that “we brought these products together with our customers, with pride as well as excitement” Kızılkaya, stated that they were happy to have the opportunity to announce, show and promote these products to all visitors at IGM 2022.
Reminding that Turkey has a worldwide prestige in textile production, Kızılkaya states that this prestige will increase even more in the coming years and that they are already seeing signs of this. According to Kızılkaya, if the production returning to Turkey during the pandemic period is sustainable, the Turkish textile industry will continue its rapid growth. Expressing that Madeira successfully closed the year 2021, Kızılkaya notes that they can confidently claim that 2022 is also satisfactory for them.
