Ahead of Series 9 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the world’s fastest-growing motorsport, Woolmark became the official technical partner of the Nissan Formula E team and partnered with Nissan to provide new high-performance team equipment.
Nissan competed in Formula E to bring the excitement and fun of zero-emission electric vehicles to a global audience. Merino wool was tested for the first time in the Nissan Formula E Team uniform, designed and developed for Season 9 of the all-electric series. The uniforms herald the emergence of a new type of natural toolkit in motorsport that takes advantage of the natural properties of Merino wool to maximize performance and comfort for the entire team.
The Woolmark and Nissan collaboration brings a new technical layer to Nissan’s new Formula E racing uniforms on the track. Created with durability and performance in mind, the Merino blend wool kit consists of base layers, middle layers and outer layers to increase performance thanks to the technical benefits of wool, and contains an average of 50% Merino wool.

Merino wool, which is breathable and easy to maintain thank to its natural structure, is resistant to odor, wind, water and UV rays. No other fiber types can replace Merino wool.
