Woven Fabric Exports Compose 20 Percent of the Sector Exports

In January-July period of 2020, the most important product group was technical textiles in total exports of textiles and raw materials of Turkey. The second important product group was the woven fabric group, which composes for 20 percent of the sector’s exports.

Woven fabric exports were worth $ 1 billion in the January-July period of 2020, while it was worth $ 178 million in July.

Woven Fabric Export by Product Group

In the same period, when the woven fabric exports were examined on the basis of sub-product groups, it was seen that the most important sub-product group was cotton woven fabric with an export value of 403 million dollars. Cotton woven fabric exports constitute 40.3 percent of total woven fabric exports. Exports of woven fabric from synthetic-artificial filament yarns, which constitute 36.2 percent of the exports in this field, amounted to 362 million dollars in the January-July period of 2020.

Woven Fabric Exports by Countries

The most important country in woven fabric exports in the January-July period of 2020 was Spain, where exports worth 69 million dollars. In this period; Italy, Germany and Tunisia became prominent as other important countries in woven fabric exports.

Looking at the EU (28) countries, which have a 44.5 percent share of woven fabric exports, exports were worth $ 445 million in the January-July period of 2020, and $ 78 million in July 2020.
