Yürek Tekstil is Launching a $350 Million Investment for Polymer Chips and POY Production
Operating in the fields of dyeing, printing, finishing, weaving, knitting and yarn twisting in a closed area of approximately 45,000 m2 in Bursa, Yürek Tekstil is implementing a 350 million dollar investment in Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone (TEKNOSAB) for the production of polymer chips and poy.

With this investment, the company aims to reduce the critical import dependency of Turkiye’s in textile sector.
Production to Begin in April
The facility, which is planned to start production in April, stands out with both its technology and environmentally friendly approaches. Stating that the facility will be commissioned with a POY and polymer chips production capacity of 360 tons/day in the first stage, Yürek Tekstil Board Member Alim Yürek said that with the 2nd stage investment, the capacity will exceed 1,000 tons/day. “We aim to be responsible for 10% of Turkiye’s essential imports,” said Yürek, emphasizing that production will create added value in the domestic market and increase the performance of the textile sector.
“We Took Such a Step to Reduce Turkiye’s Imports”
Pointing out that Turkiye’s current polyester filament need is 4 thousand tons per day, Yürek stated that they aim to be both a raw material and a solution partner for the sector with the production of polymer chips. Pointing out that the new investment made as Yürek Polimer focuses on semi-finished product production, which is needed in Turkiye, Alim Yürek said; “Our new company, which was established to reduce imports in an area where Turkiye is a net importer, will produce in a location close to the raw material. In this investment to be made within the scope of the TEKNOSAB project, chips and semi-finished yarn will be produced. We took such a step to reduce imports. Every kilogram of product we produce will reduce Turkiye’s imports by one kilogram, and this will be a great source of pride for us,”
World-Class Production
Yürek Tekstil’s new facility will meet world standards with its energy efficiency and environmentally friendly features. While the energy consumption and waste amount will be minimized thanks to the technology to be used, features such as fireproofing, antistaticity and color will be directly added to the polymer chips. Alim Yürek, who pointed out that they will contribute to Turkiye’s competitive power in the field of technical textiles, said, “Thanks to the technology to be used, we will be one of the few companies in the world with the technology in terms of waste production and energy consumption. Our goal is to improve the production performance of the textile sector by producing chips with added value, which will allow technical textile manufacturers to reach results more easily. To contribute to Turkiye’s export power. The polymer chips we will produce will be more effective, allow us to reach results more easily, and provide lower emissions, water and energy savings.”
