200 Million Dollars Yarn Factory Investment from Kiler Holding
Kiler Holding, which established a cotton yarn production facility in Bitlis with an investment of 85 million dollars, will produce polyester yarn and fabric within 3 years with an investment of 200 million dollars in total, planned in 3 phases. The facility, which will produce 50 tons of cotton yarn daily, aims to sell yarn to world brands at the center of fashion.
Operating in the construction, energy, tourism and agriculture sectors, Kiler Holding also entered the textile sector. The holding, which has established an open-end and ring-yarn production facility in Bitlis with an investment of 85 million dollars, will supply value-added and special yarns from number 16 to number 80 to global brands.
The total investment amount planned for the facility, which is planned in 3 stages and consists of cotton yarn production, was opened last week, is 200 million dollars. While polyester yarn production is planned as the second stage and fabric production as the third stage within 3 years, the facility will also contribute to the employment of the region. The current employment at the facility consists of a total of 450 people, 65 percent of whom are women. It is aimed to increase the employment provided to over 1000 people within 3 years.
“We will start exporting towards the end of the year”
Vahit Kiler, Chairman of the Board of Kiler İplik Yatırımları A.Ş., who visited the factory, made statements to the members of the press.
The factory is expected to start production at full capacity within 3 months and start exporting as of December. Stating that the facility, which is expected to have an annual turnover of 75 million dollars, will be Turkey’s largest cotton yarn production factory under a ‘single roof’, Chairman Vahit Kiler stated that the facility was established for investment-employment and export purposes. While explaining that they will export 35-40 percent of the production, Kiler stated that they will turn this period of low demand into an advantage with quality yarn and that they will supply products to luxury brands in countries such as Italy and England. Pantry; “For this, we will offer the highest quality products with the highest quality raw materials and production technology and we will create a world brand from Bitlis. We can produce between 16 and 80 numbers, that is, all kinds of yarns. We receive orders from the domestic market, which is aware of the quality of our product, and we will start exporting towards the end of the year.” Thanks to the Kiler Yarn Factory, which will produce the world-famous Aegean cotton, it is planned to contribute 48 million dollars annually to cotton farmers.
Even the dust of the facility turns into fuel, not waste
Noting that the machinery and equipment used in the Kiler Yarn Factory are specially produced by taking into account energy efficiency, Vahit Kiler said that the facility, which will meet all of its energy from ‘renewable energy’, complies with the principles of ‘zero waste’. Stating that a 2.5-meter-deep, 3-meter-wide and 6-km-long ventilation duct was built under the ground, Kiler said that even the dust generated in the facility did not turn into waste. “Cotton powders are separated and pressed through these channels and thus converted into 3,500 calories of fuel,” Kiler said.
Equity constitutes 35 percent of the investment
Stating that 35 percent of the investment is equity, Kiler said, “We are a group that always works with equity and does not use loans unless it is necessary. We did not intend to use loans in this investment. The construction sector was also squeezed when the economy was squeezed, and we transferred this resource to that side. We will close it at the first opportunity,”
Expressing that Kiler Yarn Factory has a special place for them, Kiler said, “Before realizing this investment, they asked us why we preferred Bitlis, which is far from raw materials and has no market. Bitlis is the place where we were born and raised. We do not want today’s young people to experience the problems and poverty we experienced in our youth. For this reason, although we will earn less, we have implemented this investment in Bitlis, in our hometown. So much so that we did not request a land incentive for this investment to the extent that we could receive land incentives from the state.”
Stating that a 5 percent advantage would be provided if cotton was procured from closer cities, Kiler stated that the important thing for them is not more profit, but to produce the best quality yarn.
