“We Focused on R&D Activities During the Pandemic Period”
Polteks, which filled the gap by increasing R&D activities during the pandemic period, produced 3 new technological combined machines in the last 3 years that no company in the world could produce.
We interviewed with Polteks Chairman of the Board Ali Karen for the ‘Dyeing and Finishing Technologies Special Issue’ in our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine. Karen made statements about the products that Polteks has recently developed and its future plans.
Polteks company produces dyeing and finishing machines such as Calender, Fulard, Cold Pad Batch, Knitting Sanforizer, Calender Machine with Rubber Blanket in the dye finishing group. Ali Karen said, “Many manufacturers in our country produce very good dyeing finishing machines. As a company, we believe that exports and general business will increase after the pandemic.”
Karen said that in the last 3 years, they have produced 3 new technological combination machines that no other company in the world can produce. Explaining that they aim to increase efficiency by using less energy and manpower in this type of machines, Karen stated that they have received patents for the R&D products they produce.
“We aim to contribute to the economy and development of our country”
Karen continued his words as follows: “The goal of our company is to be the first in the world in the products we produce and we believe that we can do it. To contribute to the economy and development of our country by taking the necessary share from the world market on behalf of our country and our company by producing high-tech machines that no company in the world can produce by allocating a significant share to R&D studies.”
Ali Karen gave the following examples of the machines they have recently developed: “We have produced and patented a Calender machine that can reduce labor and energy use and obtain quality fabrics by adding the Sanforizer system to the Calender machine we have developed.
We aimed to reduce its import by producing Termobonding Calender, which was not produced in our country during the pandemic. In addition, we have succeeded in being the first in the world in this regard by developing the squeezing technology that can work with different pressures in the calender.”
Informing that machinery export rates are currently around 45%, Chairman of the Board of Polteks Ali Karen, “We believe that this figure will reach the level of 70-75% in the future. We have been continuing our investments in recent years in order to achieve our goals.
We have transformed our production machines into technological machines, we have increased our production area by 2 times, but we need to increase it even more. We are trying to use the support of our state such as investment incentives and TUBITAK. Our goal is to increase the production of innovative machines by establishing an R&D center.” he said.
Stating that they need trained manpower to increase exports, but they could not find qualified personnel Ali Karen, “Our request from our government is to distribute the supports and industrial lands not according to the size and popularity of the companies, but according to the future score of the company and the added value of the product it produces to the country.” he requested.
