Vehbi Canpolat Re-elected as the President of TTTSD

In his statement after the general assembly, Vehbi Canpolat indicated the following, ‘‘I am extremely proud to be re-elected as the President of TTTSD in the new term. We will continue to work for our sector with our friends in our new board of directors. We will do our best to prepare our industry for global sustainability norms. Issues such as the circular economy, efficient use of resources, digitalization, and reduction of carbon footprint will be our primary focus with our member companies in the forthcoming period. Sustainable production with environmental awareness is not a choice but an obligation for our country and our world. We will work and we have to work to improve the technical capacity and awareness of the textile finishing industry on cleaner production. Our country is one of the 5 countries with the largest textile manufacturing capacity in the world today. If we all fulfill our responsibilities in order to protect and increase this ranking that Turkish textile has obtained in global trade, our country will enter the top 3 in the textile sector in the near future.’’

The new official and reserve members of the board of directors at TTTSD were formed as follows: ‘‘Official Members; Vehbi Canpolat, Kemal Oğuz, Fatma Şener, Ahmet Temiroğlu, Turgay Karadeniz, Faruk Özpınar, and Ali Osman Kilitçioğlu, Reserve Members; Ahmet Mithat Öve, İzzettin Toraman, Cem Susin, Yavuz Kurt, Ökkeş Balsuyu, Mustafa Sartık and Ali Çakıcı.’’
