Taiwanese Textile Machinery Manufacturers Introduced Their Sustainable Innovations at ITMA

Taiwanese Textile Machinery Manufacturers held a press conference at the ITMA 2023 held in Milan with the slogan “Weave your dreams with Taiwan Textile Machinery”. The companies introduced their sustainable innovations at the exhibition.
The opening speech of the conference was made by Kate Wu, Director of Milan Taiwan Trade Center, and James Wang, President of the Textile Machinery Committee of the Taiwan Machinery Industry Association.
Eric Fu, Vice President of Pailung Machinery Mill, made a presentation on “Smart Machine on Circular Knitting” and Pailung Marketing Engineer Specialist Bianca Yeh made a presentation on AlterKnit™. Fu said that they introduced Pai Lung’s innovative MES & (POMS + KFMS) system with the FDD device installed on circular knitting machine, and the machine becomes artificial intelligence. AlterKnit is a fabric technology tha knits up to multi colors at once to create intricately patterned fabrics. Yeh said; “Typically, combining multiple colors increases a fabric’s weight or causes uneven surface. Alternet is the expection. It combines color, comfort, and sustainable production for a fabric that’s silky smooth, lightweight, and kinder to the environment.”
ACME Europe Senior Environmental Sustainability Textile Process Representative Pascal Renger made a presentation on the AM-ICD dyeing machine, which has revolutionary innovations for sustainable production. Answering the question “Why do we need sustainability?”, Renger said, “Textile is the second most polluting sector in the world. More than 80 billion garments are produced in the world each year. The water equivalent to 32 million Olympic pools is consumed annually to produce these garments. Water demand and availability in countries affected by the global water problem will worsen due to warming and drought. For this reason, companies are faced with many new legal regulations related to sustainability around the world.” Saying that companies need to reduce their water consumption, energy consumption, CO2 emissions during the process and the total costs of production processing, Renger introduced the Exhaust Dyeing Machine AM – ICD, innovative products that will be considered a revolution for the dyeing industry. The non-traditional AM-ICD Machine is a revolutionary innovation that highly saves energy and protects environment. Different from the traditional dyeing m/c which usually forwards the fabrics by means of a lot of water, this model m/c is equipped with a conveyer to transport fabrics which achieves its extremely low liquor ratio 1: 2.5 – 3.5. Therefore, this m/c can save water, steam, energy and chemical consumption as well as effluent bymore than 65-75% compare to the traditional dyeing machines.
