“We Will Commission a RAM Machine That Will Make a Strong Impact in the Industry in the First Quarter of 2026”

Chairman of the Board of Kıray Makina, Samet Kıray sheds light on the future of the sector, from preparations for ITM 2026 to the sustainability vision, from the R&D-oriented growth strategy to new-generation machines. The journey of Kıray Makina, shaped by its engineering strength, continues without slowing down on the axis of efficiency and sustainability.

Founded in 2011 under the name “Teknik Otomasyon” and continuing its journey under the Kıray Makina brand as of 2016, the company has today reached a remarkable position both in Türkiye and in global markets in the fields of textile finishing and automation. Standing out with its domestic production power, engineering-oriented approach, and customer-specific solutions, Kıray Makina is moving forward toward ITM 2026 with an ambitious preparation process.
Kıray Makina General Manager Samet Kıray evaluated the company’s development story, the transforming dynamics of the sector, and future goals for our magazine.

Your company set out in 2011 under the name “Teknik Otomasyon”; took the name Kıray Makina in 2016; and today is a well-known player both in Türkiye and global markets. How would you briefly summarize this journey and the point you have reached today?

The foundations of Kıray Makina were laid in 2011 under the name Teknik Otomasyon, with the aim of developing automation and auxiliary unit solutions for the textile sector. In the first years of establishment, focus was placed on field experience, accurate analysis of customer needs, and developing customized solutions. This period became a critical process in which Kıray’s technical infrastructure and engineering approach were shaped.

In 2016, with the expansion of the product range, the strengthening of machine manufacturing capabilities, and the clarification of the brand vision, we continued our path under the name Kıray Makina. Today, Kıray Makina holds a recognized brand position both in Türkiye and in global markets with its domestic production power, high engineering approach, and integrated solutions in the fields of textile finishing, fabric inspection, automation, electronics, and auxiliary units.
Kıray is not only a company that produces machines; it directs the sector as a solution partner that contributes to its customers’ efficiency, quality, sustainability, and digitalization goals.

How did 2025 pass for Kıray Makina?

As Kıray Makina, in 2025 we started an additional 10,000-square-meter building project within the scope of our new investments. We aim to complete this project in April–May 2026.

Although a certain decrease has been observed in orders due to the general slowdown experienced in the global market, thanks to our sales team actively following the world market and the support of our global representatives, the process is progressing in a healthy manner. In the current picture, everything is progressing as planned operationally.

“We Shape Our Long-Term Strategy with a Continuous Focus on Efficiency and Sustainability”

What kinds of strategic transformations do the changing processes in the Turkish textile sector — increasing quality and efficiency expectations, water/energy pressure, and sustainable production demands — require for Kıray Makina?

The vision of Kıray Makina is to continue developing machines that provide real and measurable benefits in these areas by correctly reading the increasingly rising expectations for quality and efficiency in the sector and the pressure for water and energy efficiency. We design all our solutions with this understanding and shape our long-term strategy with a continuous focus on efficiency and sustainability.

In this direction, we focus on systems that place water and energy savings at the center and offer maximum performance with minimum resource consumption. Increasing costs and environmental responsibilities have made this approach a strategic priority for Kıray.

Among the concrete examples of this vision are the HYM-1923 Continuous Rope Washing Machine and the ROY-1919 Stenter Inlet Washing Machine, which stand out with their water and energy efficiency. Thanks to their optimized process structures, these machines contribute significantly to businesses, significantly reducing their water and energy consumption. In the upcoming period, we aim to spread this efficiency approach across our entire product range.

“Engineering-Oriented and Customer-Specific Solutions”

What are the main features that distinguish Kıray Makina from its competitors?

The most important element that distinguishes us from our competitors is our engineering-oriented approach and our capability to develop customer-specific solutions. Instead of standard and single-type solutions, we develop systems suitable for each facility by analyzing the process structure, production targets, and technical needs of each business in detail. This approach enables us to deliver solutions that operate more stably in the field, offer high efficiency, and have a long service life.

“The Strategic Location of Istanbul Makes the ITM Exhibition an Attractive Meeting Point”

How do you carry out your preparation process for the ITM 2026 Exhibition?

The ITM Exhibition today holds a position as one of the most important exhibitions in the field of textile machinery in the world. Ease of transportation and the strategic location of Istanbul make the ITM Exhibition a strong and attractive meeting point for visitors coming from all over the world.

As Kıray Makina, at ITM 2026, we aim to introduce the machines we have newly developed and to bring together our ambitious models, which reflect our engineering strength and are focused on high efficiency and performance, with sector professionals. ITM is an important platform for us that both strengthens existing collaborations and lays the groundwork for the beginning of new projects.

R&D, Domestic Production, and Integrated Structure

Can you talk about your R&D and production infrastructure?

At Kıray Makina, R&D is handled not as a separate department, but as a natural and uninterrupted part of production and engineering. We have a continuous improvement approach that continues in every machine, every revision, and every feedback received from the field.

Following the planned new investments, it is aimed to allocate a special area for R&D activities. In this area, we will focus on the development of existing products, improvements that will provide performance and efficiency increases, and new solutions.

What are your goals for 2026 and beyond?

In 2026 and beyond, Kıray Makina will take its claim in new machine development even further. In the first quarter of 2026, we plan to commission a RAM machine that will create a serious impact in the sector and is special in terms of engineering. Following this, it is aimed to add two new machines to our product range within the same year.

Our growth strategy is predominantly export-oriented. Strengthening our presence in international markets and opening up to new markets are among our priority goals.

Lastly, the message we want to give to the sector is this: Investments should be planned not only according to today’s needs, but also by taking into consideration the production conditions of the future. Increasing energy and water costs, sustainability pressure, and the need for qualified labor have made high-engineering-quality and efficient solutions no longer a preference, but a necessity.
